New Level 50 AT (sort of)

Ok, before everyone sighs "Oh not again", let me clarify. Originally, when Kheldians were introduced, I had thought they would be a reflection of what we saw in the comics where the current character gained the Kheldian abilites. What I propose is at level 50 we have to option to re-roll that character (with all badges, inf, and accolades) into a character that has the same primary, but with the Kheldian secondaries.

Since Kheld secondaries only have one of the shapeshift forms, the Nova form could be introduced as an Epic set. From a concept point of view, when we make a Kheld, it's a human/Kheldian hybrid, with this idea, we can create Meta-human/Kheldian hybrids.

Would this be ANY AT? Red or Blueside?
I would imagine that some of them would fare better than others with thier Secondary replaced with that of the Khelds. The first thing I thought of was the "Stalker without Hide", but that's just me.

How well do you think this would this work on each of the AT's that would qualify?

Edit: I have an old scrapper that I'd be happy to use as a test subject though.

The Devs have said 'No more Unlock at 50 EATs'
Other than that...its an interesting point and idea -nods-

Well with the notion of heroes and villains switching sides, I dont see why villains couldn't get something like this, but with a Nictus flair.

I was not really attached to the whole "Unlocked as 50" thing, but it would extend the playability of a character without upping the level limit, otherwise we fall back on just rolling another character.

So a Tank could have <Defensive set>/Luminous Blast
A Scrapper <Melee Attack set>/Luminous Aura
Blaster <Blast Set> / Luminous Aura
Controller <Control Set> / Luminous Aura?
Defender <Buff Set>/ Luminous Blast?
Or would they all get the defensive set (Lum. Aura) as thier secondary? Because in that case, the Tank in the above example would get two defensive sets and no attacks, which would suck.

Redside, well, what about MM's? None of the Kheld powersets really look that great at buffing/defending your pets.

I really like this idea man!

A couple suggestions:

Instead of a fixed replacement, let the player choose if he wants to replace the primary or secondary. Or just append the Kheldian powers into the list of original powers and one could pick and choose what they wanted. Of course this would bring some complications to light. So perhaps to counteract them, for every kheldian power you pick, one of your equal level human powers becomes unavailable, and vice versa.

Also, instead of unlocking this at 50, perhaps some kind of Kheldian badge could unlock it. Like from the kheldian story arc or something like that.

Mmm, yummy - my Blaster gets to be more of a Tank Mage than my Kheldian - adding the Dwarf and the shields. And my Tank gets to do that as well (with a slightly lesser? Blast).

This is one facet of Kheldians that always bugged me. My first level 50 (and thus the one who unlocked kheldians for me) was a Forcefield/Psychic Blast Defender, and would later on in his storyline become my Peacebringer, but really he should still have -SOME- of his psychic powers. It doesn't really make sense that he lost them, or that he just wouldn't USE them.

What I would like is for current (and any future) Kheldian archetypes to get access to a sort of Host Power Pool.

HPPs would fill in some of the powers that you would have had before becomming joined, and there would be one to represent each power type (Psi, Fire, Ice, Etc).

Ideally these sets would open up earlier than an APP, since they're all powers that you should have had already.

This way, sure you primarily use the Kheldian powers, but it lets you hold onto the thematics of your host character's power, if they had any.

Example: For my FF/Psi host Peacebringer I would use the Psionic HPP which might have:

Subdue
Telekinetic Blast
Psychic Scream
Scramble Thoughts

None of these powers is really going to alter the play of the character, but it'll allow me to keep the Theme of the character.

(Keep in mind that taking any of these powers takes up one of your normal power slots, so it's not a case of adding "even more powers" to a kheldian. You still get the exact same number of power picks.)

Actually they could be arranged so that that wouldn't be the case. As far as MMs are concerned, they would be limited to the same secondaries as a tank, but considering the possibility of picking up the Nova as an Epic, I think its still worth it.
