I am in the neighborhood of 2k for my 3 accounts. One was from the beginning, the second was 2 years later and the 3rd was a year after that.

I cannot wait to see what my GR purchasing options will be. * hint hint to the marketing department *

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

Those were some awesome comments.

I'm refusing to add this up based on the fact that my wife may see the actual number, but I'm closing on the 5 year reward for one of my accounts, and have done several rig upgrades....

Its considered sport on Amazon to target such products. I've mentioned several times Denon's other entry into the high quality cable market, the $500 digital audio cable also known as the world's most expensive ethernet patch cable, and the laptop steering wheel desk which, while not directly expensive, could ultimately be the most costly product of the bunch.

Edit: even better is that the Denon AKDL1 shows only three left, and even better yet are the two weisenheimers selling a used and refurbished version.

Ummm let's see....

47mos subscription - $705
Mac Pac for work 'puter - $15
Every Booster pack - $80
Computer 1-I bought when I saw that my computer at the time couldn't handle the game (the one that just died, never ever buy a gateway)- $1500
Computer 2- to replace the gateway - $5100 (thought I would go all out since I got a nice hefty raise when I was shopping for this)
Game time cards for friends that loss their jobs because of the f'ed up economy - $200

That comes out to around $7600. I haven't counted the cable bill for the internet service and I probably forgot something.....

This game means so much to me since it is my primary entertainment source. Being without a computer for the past 3 months has really made me appreciate the time spent on this game and how much I miss my in game friends. I don't think that I will ever stop playing until the very last second that the game is up and running.

I was thinking that that was cheap...I don't even want to tell you what it costs me in NYC for cable.

Well, let's see. There's the $100 I paid for parts for my second desktop two and a half years ago (I originally ran CoH on my first desktop, which was an ancient Pentium 4 and couldn't drive a high enough framerate even at 640x480 to provide a good play experience, so I got a sweet deal from a friend on a then-somewhat-dated Athlon 64 motherboard, processor, RAM, and video card). There's the $800 I paid for my third (current) desktop last fall, which thankfully well exceeds the requirements for ultra mode so I won't need to make any more hardware upgrades for a while.

30 months of subscription time on my main account, mostly paid monthly, and 18 months on my second account, also paid monthly, adds up to $720 in monthly fees. I've purchased about 20 extra character slots between my two accounts for another $80, bought the GvE pack for both accounts for a total of $20, and the Mac pack for one account for another $10 (been meaning to pick up the Mac pack on the other account, as well as the magic pack for both).

Add up the hardware and software costs, and you're looking at a total of somewhere around $1730 over two and a half years. That's about $2 a day (more like $1.10 if you don't factor in the hardware costs), which isn't bad considering I spend most of the time I'm not sleeping, working, or in class playing the game. Lot cheaper than some other forms of entertainment (by comparison, watching 6 hours' worth of movies in a theater would run me over $25 a day).

Not enough. This game and community have already given me WAY more than I have ever paid for. So that's why I keep paying for every new release that comes out, even if I'll never use it (i.e. the Science Pack, Wedding Pack, etc.)

$600 since June 2008.

This explains why NCSoft love multiboxers :-)

How much $$$ have I placed into the game, hmmm... Lets see, I have 3 accts, one started out with the dvd collector's edition, and other 2 were just standard box editions, and when CoV came out I bought one collector's special edition of that one and 2 standard editions for the other 2 accts. Then all the booster sets for all 3 accts and then there's subscription times. Lets see one hit the 60 month mark last month, the other is at the 57 mark, and number 3 is at 48 mark and I guess since some people are including computer hardware costs there is the $1300 I plan to put down for a new computer when Going Rogue comes out, oh can't forget that I will need to get 3 copies of that. Lets see carry the decimal here, divide there, round up the remainder to the nearest tenth.

Overall I can say that I put down a good deal money into this game, and have no regrets about it. I enjoy the game and community and unless the devs do something drastic to destroy all interest that I have in this game then I don't see myself stopping anytime soon.

How much?

Nowhere near enough. This game has provided a level of entertainment that only my first love (D&D) can equal. Considering how much money I've sunk into that over the years, I have a lot of catching up to do with City.

We're just waiting for GR so we can spend more money.

Cheaper than seeing a movie twice a month.

Actually, around here? Once a month. I shouldn't need to tell you which has significantly more return.

45 months, plus a few Re-Names, Additional Character slots, and the GvE, Valkyrie, Cyborg, Magic, Science, and Ninja packs... let's see... multiply by.... hate math...carry the 1...

About $830 spent on the game for me.
