Optimal Damage Farming

So Im curious are there any particular mobs that are optimal for damage farming? Right now Im standing in front of a Fake Nem Lt. and taking 901 dmg every ~5 seconds with rest on. With a regen rate of 188.39 hp/sec and max hp of 1883 is there another mob that would give me more damage faster?

It depends on your archetype and a few other factors (how much +hp powers you have for instance).

If you are a scrapper or stalker, you can benefit from 2 heals in rest.
If you are a tank or brute, you can benefit from 1 heal in rest.
Other ATs are at 1900%/2000% regen at rest.

I seem to remember tanks/brutes/scrappers can use one of the RWZ Rikti bosses in the missions (Chief Soldier with rounded shoulder pads).

I used that method on my scrapper with capped Regen in rest mode, and it worked fantastic! Problem is it's been nerfed for some time now. That boss now uses 2 powers and kills you, instead of repeating the same one over and over after it recharges. It's been this way at least since before the badge changes came down a while back.

So now I went back to dual lvl 52 CoT Guides, and earning only a fraction of the credit. bleh! lol

I had to experiment a bit to get the most mileage out of the CoT for my 50 SR scrapper. Graduated her from a 52 red CoT Guide on melee (sickle not the crossbow) > to two CoT Guides (one on melee, one ranged) while a 50 Emp healed at a safe distance > to a winged Behemoth. The last was a bit tricky as he kept knocking my scrapper back, and eventually out of the Emp's range. To compensate, I picked a sewer map and would wedge her (rested) behind a large winch which was always right next to a wall. That solved the KB problem. She was stuck like Chuck. Then, I beefed up support. She had a 50 Empath -and- a level 1 ssk'd Emp from a trial account both auto'ing Heal Other.

Not that everyone has access to a 50 Emp. Perhaps a friend who needs the heal badge? I guess my point is, if you experiment enough with available resources.. right down to immovable map objects, you can really cut down on time. Optimize optimize optimize.

You probably could have just left [Practiced Brawler] turned on to avoid the knockback. It wouldn't affect your damage progress at all.

Dont know why I never thought have slotting rest for heals but I did which allowed me to sit in front of a Fake Nem and take 1086 damage every 5 seconds from his staff. I have to leave granite on though for the stun protection he stacks it up high and fast, leaves me with only .7 mag protection at times.

How about for a MM?

In the Arena of Logic, I fight unarmed.

See the link I posted in my first reply. Also stay out of bodyguard mode. Any damage your pets take doesn't count for you.

I've done this on all my characters.

Guides have only one attack (in melee) which is their sword. It does tremendous damage (at least, with -300% RES) and has a long recoil. The damage is high enough to trigger one-shot code, and the recoil is long enough that you can regen to full JUST before the next swipe. There's virtually no wasted effort.

I've used Guides for all my squishies. It can sometimes be a hassle to get one positioned correctly, since they tend to flee if they start missing, but once you get them going it works great. For some I had to grab +1 to +3 depending, but it's always worked. Any bonus +HP you have isn't a pain when they're doing all but 1 of your HP per hit.

I even got the badge on my level 42 Brute in just a few hours using this method. And when I recommended it to an MM friend, his progress toward the badge increased dramatically.
