It's been a while since i've played on CoH but now its on the mac I thought I'd give it ago as I used to love playing it. So picked up my old character on union server and it was pretty much empty so decided to use my opther character on defiant and same again almost like a ghost town. I really do enjoy this game but if there is nobody else online it kinda sucks! Have people moved over to champions online? I've not tried champions online, how does it compare to CoH??

Welcome back - I came back recently to Union (and a bit of Defiant) after a year off and so far haven't had any troubles in finding some excellent teaming, especially villain side.

As an example in my three months back I've managed to finish getting a villain to 50 and as of last night got my first VEAT (a Widow) to 40. So as far as the servers being quiet, well in my experience, I think not. Sign yourself up to one of the badge hunt channels - sals badgehunters is always busy.

Yes there was a mass rush over to Champions but from people I've spoken to in and out of game many of those have already given up and come back.

Feel free to shout me on global anytime (@FrIce) and if I'm ingame and not working on an AE arc I'll help out as much as I can.

From what I hear (I have no firsthand knowledge) the European servers are much emptier than the NA servers. Perhaps you could pick up the NA version of the game and see if you like it there better. You clearly speak English, so there won't be a language barrier to get past.

I know quite a few people from around the world that play on the NA servers, so actual physical location doesn't mean that much.

The only downside: You can't keep your characters if you start a NA account. There used to be a transfer feature, but I don't think it exists anymore.

There's also the potential downside of playing at off-peak hours if your chosen server is many time zones away. One suggestion: ask around in the specific server forum and see if there's an active population of players from your time zone.

'Defiant Events' on Defiant, and 'sals badgehunters' on Union are probably the busiest global channels.

I'm sure when I used to go on years ago there was loads of people milling around at atlas park now there seems hardly any at all... it's not really finding people thats hard it's just that I miss the general busyness of the place and the atmosphere.. For example I'm now standing next to miss liberty (union server) and I can see 3 online players

You have to remember, the best ways to get experience is in missions, and probably always will be. People in missions don't show up when you search a zone.

It's nice to see people standing about, but when you don't that doesn't mean the game is dead. The advice people gave about Global Channels is good. So is making Global Friends with people you like, so you can see them even on other characters. That will help you find people to play with even if you have to character hop.
