I have failed :(
PvP on champion is a fail.. i really don't care what any of y'all say :] Scribe, Oz, Nappy, Neur, Dro, and I moved one of our toons to Virtue for PvP.. Unlike on champion instead of there being about 4 people in zone at all times.. We had about 15 people in there total the past few times we were in RV, maybe even a little more.
Some of the "Best" PvP'rs have lets say.. (Been born and raised) on champion no? and some of the "best" PvP Groups have (been born and raised) on champion no? Looking at today's PvP though.. Well its just pathetic! the only people i ever see in RV these days.. on a daily schedule, would be Oz, Scribe, Dro, Elfy, and Myself.. If i missed a name i am sorry. Only one problem with these names.. !!!WE ARE ALL VILLAINS!!! No heroes in the Zone to PvP with? That brings me to another subject.. In a different post i stated that when us villains are out numbered.. lets say by three or four? we usually stick it out and try to keep it going.. yes, EVEN if we die trying. But when the heroes get out numbered by maybe, two or three of us villains.. By GOD will you stay in RV. Even if you have an emp on your side, y'all still think its "Unfair" and y'all ***** and moan about how we have u out numbered.. I'm not saying us villains don't ***** and moan, but we don't every time.. Here's another one, if the heroes are just getting ***** up, down, left, and right. They just HAVE to ask for a 1v1.. I guess they don't do it under FC, because of my stalker in RV.. and/or because no arena options. So I'm going to pick on artic right here.. If heroes are getting slammed, artic will ask for a 1v1.. since we are "gang banging" and "teaming on him" in RV.. Well first off, welcome to Zone PvP buddy.. Second is, if no one accepts his challenge, to a 1v1 in arena.. he leaves the zone? WTF is that ****? so we don't want to 1v1 u in arena.. then you talk **** about how we are scarred? lulz at you type of people! your just as AWESOME AS AROLLINGTHUNDER! Anyways, to end this, i would like to say thank you everyone for all the fun on champion PvP. Its not because of me, or any other individual, it's all of us that made it happen. Sure I've caused some drama, and some of it is funny as hell.. and then other parts have got me banned lol..? Anyways, thank you to all the PvP Community on champion for the fun PvP times. I am still looking for a new PvP "home" with scribe and the rest of our crew.. |
THIS is why I don't pvp. Who needs this? How can you learn to pvp when all the illiterates want to do is score easy victories. Let me know when you're on Freedom full time. Whitty and I need to work on some badges.

well you had the privelidge of learning to pvp when the server's pvp population was fairly high and had a good amount of skill. during this time many of those skilled players were currently competing on test and if they werent doing officials they were practicing against other test groups or just doing for fun pvp in zones (where you would encounter them) so at the time arena was dead (no such thing as practices on live) these days however zones are poppin for a lil bit then die instantly, hardly a way to consistently improve. however a few friends in the arena could practice several different things (ie. hard to practice your evasion in the zones, when your constantly the chaser and not evader)

I got my *** kicked over and over again but it was fun because there were lots of people and if one side outnumbered the other then a few people would switch and the fights would continue. Now? Lol.

Of course you apparently havn't stepped in a pvp zone in the past 4 months otherwise you'd have known that...
Yes because Targus represents the pvp community. The illiterates are about .00009% of the pvprs on this server so how about just saying you don't want to learn to pvp rather than blame it on the occassional ******? |
And no, I know these people don't represent the pvp community as a whole, just like they don't represent the Boards. But if I only have a very short time I can play each day, do I want to burn time with these dipwads or do something else? My money says do something else.

If it wasn't for a$$holes farming the noobs, no one would be afraid of pvp zones. But because it is open season on players like me, by players like that, that make pvp unattractive.

"Excuse me good sir. I will now proceed to attack you, please sir will you kindly inform me when this exchange of blows become too uncomfortable for you and your ego so that I will refrain from stomping all over it. "
No sorry, PvP zones is probably the worst place to learn to pvp. If you want to really learn and have fun, the best place is the arena. Kickball matches are a great place to get to smash someone's face in for 10,15, or hell 30 minutes.
Zones are the wildwest. And 99% of the time, it contains most "jacktards".
Most jacktards won't go into the arena cause there's no base to run to. There's no heavy to help them. When you're in the arena, you're in a virtual boxing ring.
Anyways, long story short, if you wanna have real fun. Go to the arena. Zones are a bad place to start.

So are you saying that PvP zones are supposed to be more of a gentleman's sport like area?

whooooooa hold up on that decision quite yet mister.... We have Several brand new people to CoH and all have a srs intrest in "learning" pvp. BlueDarkness and I, along with 7-8 other all had a discussion about this in vent yesterday.
The major concern that these new people have is the same concern that many have had for some time now....
Going into pvp to learn, and their first and only lesson is in the form of a foot being shoved up their a z z repeatedly by some idiot pvp'er that is in it just for the joy of "lets kick sand in some noob's faces"
Now dont get me wrong, I do understand that pvp is about killing the other person, but when is enough really enough?
How many times have you gone into a zone and been outnumbered, and been killed 82 different times just because they enjoy killing you over and over?
Maybe, just maybe if we see someone dieing over and over and over.... we could "stop" killing them long enough to find out if their new.... and possibly offer some of the knowledge you've picked up from others through the years to them? Just a thought.
I know we have 6-7 people in P.o.N that were new to the game, not yet in P.o.N at this time, and went into Warburg and Rv to check it out. Asked someone there to "show them the ropes" of pvp and the person agreed. The person then went on to kill them over and over, and when they said "what exactly am I learning here besides how to die in 5 seconds?" the response they got was "Welcome to PVP B I T C H"
Wow....Champion server the home not of champions, but of rude A z zholes I guess.
That person has now sworn off pvp and will not even attempt it even after Elf and I, and several others all agreed to show them about pvp, and hang out in the pvp zone's with them.
Look I'm not trying to say we should be the lovey dovey server, the server that cares, or anything of the kind. I'm just saying maybe, just maybe if we took the time to show people how much fun pvp can be, and not just take them in and kick their teeth out, They might enjoy it? Just thinking outside that crazy box again.
I think the first steps toward this were taken by one of Champions, and all servers elite pvp'ers.... So Enemy, dont you go anywhere. We NEED you here on Champion, Where the real "Champions" belong.
That is all.... carry on

OMG, Budweiser is repeating what i have been saying for 2yrs now, i think i am going to have a heart attack!
Anyways i am glad you guys are starting to figure out why pvp is dead. This shows hope for the future.
ALL-OUT-WAR-RAIDERS (our 9th division) has just begun and already has 23 PvPers in it. The community will grow, it will just take some time.
Yea, but you say it and make it sound like your S*** dont stink, and that AOW is the best thing down the pipe since SF.....
Maybe you could use a little humility and tact in most everything you say? hmmmmmm?

Personally, the ability to start Arena matches anywhere is a boon. Wolf, myself and some of our in-game buddies tend to throw down all the time in the Arena.
Yeah, it helps you improve and choices of maps brings a large variety of combat. My flier is brutal on the Eden map but dead in the Cage...if I can keep my blaster alive for a few minutes against Wolf I'm happy.
Why not arrange more PvP Arena events?
Dang Bud, how did you get special treatment. It's been 3 1/2 hours and Alpha and Criticalcat haven't come in and AS'd you yet for your comments.
(well Pete, you just need a better PR firm, that's all)

And you wonder why we're laughing at you, not with you.
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

side.. In my opinion if the name is orange, it should die.. Now maybe this is a reason why people don't much care for me in PvP, and they call me an a$$/****/idiot/mutha effer.. I honestly don't care though. If you want to learn about PvP, zone is probably THE WORST.. I REPEAT THE WORST place to learn about it. Your statement above, and all these other quotes i made on you Bud state such matters. If you would like to learn about PvP, and have questions about it.. try the PvP101 channel Scribe made? and go into arena with a buddy for some pointers?
Going into PvP, the first lesson should be getting a foot shoved in their face.. Not all the PvP'rs are nice (like myself) They will learn sooner or later that PvP has a mean side.. Get the hard stuff out of the way first?
Maybe, just maybe if we see someone dieing over and over and over.... we could "stop" killing them long enough to find out if their new.... and possibly offer some of the knowledge you've picked up from others through the years to them? Just a thought. |
If you don't recognize the global, they are most likely new to the zone.
Once again. Zone is THE WORST place to learn about PvP.. unless they just want uber smart comeback skillz? Once again for another time.. Use the PvP101 channel for questions about PvP, and go to arena with a buddy?
I know we have 6-7 people in P.o.N that were new to the game, not yet in P.o.N at this time, and went into Warburg and Rv to check it out. I don't mean to rag on you Bud, and ill go ahead and say it.. IVE DONE THIS TOO
Have you offered to take the 6-7 people from PoN that are interested in PvP to arena? To show them some ropes? Or have they asked for y'all to take them into arena and show them something? I don't know the full story behind this statement, so don't take it the wrong way. Just asking :]
Wow....Champion server the home not of champions, but of rude A z zholes I guess. That person has now sworn off pvp and will not even attempt it even after Elf and I, and several others all agreed to show them about pvp, and hang out in the pvp zone's with them. |
I'll use myself for an example.. People start to get pissed at me A LOT, because I don't allow 1v1's in zone w/ my stalker.. Hence the name Targus FC Police. Others may disagree with me, but 1v1's are for arena not RV, WB, SC, BB, or anywhere.. they SHOULD STAY IN ARENA.. that is why in arena, you can choose your team size, and you can have a nice, decent 1v1 with out any interruptions. On the other hand, when you go into zone.. that little counter that lets you know when you can attack, and when people can attack you.. That is a nice way of saying
"Welcome to the zone, anyone can kill you at anytime.. Sorry if you get you sh_t rocked"
just maybe if we took the time to show people how much fun pvp can be, and not just take them in and kick their teeth out, They might enjoy it? Just thinking outside that crazy box again. |
A-You learn who the PvP'rs are on the server
B-You learn how to play with a team of PvP'rs and they help you
C-You learn to evade like you would if you were in zone.. because you will be a target once

As far as Bud's comments. Felicia is "special". Bud's comment was basically "pot meet kettle" to me. Seems like a perfect match made in heaven, why interfere?
