Well, they did make the comment a few months ago when they deleted all the AE badges, that they were planning on adding more challenging badges...

It's not a freespec if it costs something.

Freespec is a term that is used to differentiate between the two different types of respecs, earned repecs come from Vet rewards, the trials and for villains the patron arc. Freespecs are everything else.

Technically Freespec means "respec that is not stackable and is accessed through the /respec commands rather than the normal respec contact". It should probably have a better name but it's called a freespec because the most common source are the free respecs given out with new issues.

This just in:
Updates to the Winter Event

"Lord Winter’s resistances have been equalized": We'll see what that means, but I'm guessing that equalized means actually the same. The question is at what level; when you're fighting 226k HP or so, resistance makes a huge difference in the actual difficulty and time.

"Completing Father Time's mission will once again give the choice of selecting 5 Candy Canes": I'm not actually sure this is a good idea, as they've been trying to get away from mindless repetition. Personally, I'd like to see a more substantial candy cane reward, but put it on a TF-like timer.

I dunno about the cane-to-effort ratio, but just as a 'casual gamer' the event looks like fun. If it generates zone turnout and player teaming on par with the Halloween even, I'll be a thoroughly satisfied customer.

If you really wanted the candy canes why bother with lord winter just clean the zone. If this is the case I think there will be no shortage at all of canes this year.

I was under the impression that Bought respecs, respec recipes, and this new respec were all the stackable kind?

I've used respec recipes and they are definitely not the stackable kind.

I'm not completely sure that they drop before Lord Winter is killed. However, this is one of the things I want to test tonight; see if a small team capable of opening presents and defeating a single Winter Lord to get the gate-box, but with no realistic chance of taking Lord Winter and friends down, can just clear out the smaller stuff for canes.

Either this is an intended strategy, and it's important to know that it's WAI and about what to expect from it; or it's not an intended strategy, and we should make sure it gets patched before things go live.

If they did patch it, it would be sad. Also as an observation, Its easier to let them claim their fun accidents were planned, than it is to get them to change their well thought out errors.
