Hey all, I'm looking for a keybind or macro that will target next enemy player, rather than next enemy. For pvp, targeting the NPCs when your chasing somone is a pain. Anyone know how to do this?

Specifically, you would want /target_custom_next, but none of the parameters to the command differentiate between player and NPC.

Targeting commands don't work in PvP zones, last I checked.

Targeting is a function of your client, and does not change while in PvP zones. I have used target_custom_next several times while hunting for Blue Ink men for a badge in Siren's Call. Even the standard default TAB is a target command for next enemy, and that certainly works. lol

As mentioned, you can only differentiate between enemy and friend, but not between NPC and player. The only suggestion I have for the OP would be to use target_custom_next and the name of a specific player you are trying to target. That should work just fine.

Not entirely correct. For instance, you cannot "target-assist" (target someone else's target through them) in a PVP zone.

I haven't noticed this. Highlighting a teammate does show me their target, though I have not tried using the /assist command on them anytime in my recollection.

Edit:
Just tested and though it does show you their target, but it doesn't let you attack through them. And no, /assist doesn't work. That is certainly interesting... but that just means that /assist is probably a clientside copy of your target's target to your own target, rather than your client searching your screen for the target.

It's disabled like so that you cannot be blinded and then target though someone else who isn't.

That, and the fact that you lose targeting of things when players go to the hospital/you go to the hospital.
