I am wondering too. Additional quick question, can a bane crit from stealth or is the cloaking device needed? What about after placate on no cloaking?

You can crit from just placate w/o bane cloaking device.
You need Bane cloaking device to have "Hidden" status to be able to crit.
Ok so I've been thinking about making a Bane for pvp, even after veat dmg nerf and elusitivity, I wanna have a PB and bane (matching EATS) for pvp.
Looking at the build, I want Leaping, Fitness, Leadership (double assault ftw?), phase, and aidself. I'm willing to cut out SS especially if I have mental training and swift. Anyone have decent builds? I want mace beam, poisonous ray, shatter, placate, shatter armor, web coccoon, surveillence, and probably Mace Blast from the patron to get SHatter Armor. Anyone have any suggestions or builds or advise on what to build for? (I've pvp'd on an SO'd bane before in i13, so I know most of the combat strategies.) |
If you go to make this toon on freedom skipping superspeed is not really an option. I will throw a good word in for the fighting pool on a veat. It might sound crazy but it really can help. If its mostly for zones just carry greens and use the temp phase as needed.
As far as patrons go I would probably just grab trow fishy and call it good. Make sure to pump your ranged defense as high as possible. Even in dr world a well built bane is tough as hell to hit.
And an honorable mention to going for a straight ****** build. Hatter used to have his in rv alot with tp+fly. He would fly around, nade stuff and tp it into the pools. It was a pretty annoying toon. Not sure if you like to play that way, but it really is effective if that floats your boat.

I guess I can just c raft temp phases, however, I have REALLY long loads into RV (up to 5 minutes at times) so I dont leave zone for insps....ever. Which is why i wanted aidself but I suppose I can just run or phase.

My Bane will have ~43% DRed ranged when I get the last two IOs I need to complete sets. That's about as high as you can realisticly go without completely gimping yourself, and even then it won't go much higher. I've teamed with Ronin and gotten Veng and only went to 48%. Even with that I get hit alot. No Elusivity and crappy resists kinda sucks.
Also, you can't take Spirit Shark and Shatter Armor. I went Shatter Armor on my build and it is an awesome attack.

The damage is pretty good surprisingly however i dont have assault in time for sirens call . I opted not to take a mastery and went with tough and weave in the 40s and it does help me quite a bit. I also took mace beam and poisonus ray, they both do good damage in pvp and good to snag runners. Im not sure you will be able to fit in shatter armor or not i couldnt do it. capping def was also expensive and required some odd slotting at times. i have a 46 bane with a crapload of accolades that are closed to being done (i pve'd it with a bunch of badgers in justice before moving it to freedom in i12);

anyways. replace pulverize with shatter armor cause my mid's is borked.
i was bored (again), so i came up with this. the only big trade off is the fact that it doesn't have assault nor placate.
1720 hp, a bit of DoT potential, and the ability to see stalkers after popping a yellow or getting a cm/em is potentially interesting; especially with going rogue around the corner and kb's in freedom becoming so popular (not like i'm gonna be anything but teh fat kid if i actually finish this toon).

Ok so I've been thinking about making a Bane for pvp, even after veat dmg nerf and elusitivity, I wanna have a PB and bane (matching EATS) for pvp.
Looking at the build, I want Leaping, Fitness, Leadership (double assault ftw?), phase, and aidself. I'm willing to cut out SS especially if I have mental training and swift.
Anyone have decent builds? I want mace beam, poisonous ray, shatter, placate, shatter armor, web coccoon, surveillence, and probably Mace Blast from the patron to get SHatter Armor.
Anyone have any suggestions or builds or advise on what to build for?
(I've pvp'd on an SO'd bane before in i13, so I know most of the combat strategies.)
