Any Future Intriguing Games?

The one thing I'll give to the current Star Wars MMO is that when you were in a blaster fight it felt and sounded like something was happening. Maybe it was because the blasters sounded like they did in the movies and you could run and shoot at the same time. Maybe the combat mechanics weren't the best overall, but it was still kind of cool. Maybe it's the thought that Star Wars had more of a feel of the western gunslingers to it than Star Trek does.

Every Star Trek phaser fight basically has people standing stationary and shooting once with the phaser and dropping whatever they hit. That doesn't make for very dynamic ground combat, so I was hoping the ship battles would be a bit more epic. Cryptic has basically said that with big ships you have slower, plodding combat and that the ground combat would be more dynamic. Now that I've seen some footage of the ground combat, "dynamic" isn't exactly the word I'd use to describe it.

Arc# 92382 -- "The S.P.I.D.E.R. and the Tyrant" -- Ninjas! Robots! Praetorians! It's totally epic! Play it now!

Arc # 316340 -- "Husk" -- Azuria loses something, a young woman harbors a dark secret, and the fate of the world is in your hands.

I'm looking forward to Global Agenda personally. There have been rumors surfacing about a Planetside 2 for all the PvP fanatics i just hope it's like Pside in the begining not when they got a hole new Dev team and they broke the freaking game >_<!

StarCraft 2 is the only thing I've got my eyes currently set on. I loved the first one so much and the teaser vids I've seen are impressive. The boy wants to pick up a copy of the new Super Mario Brothers Wii. It looks fun too so we probably will when we can find a copy.

New Super Mario Bros. is reportedly hard but fun, and can be insane if playing with four players. We'll be picking it up at some point, I'm sure. Super Mario Galaxy was a great game, but I was a little disappointed in how limited the second player mode was.

For Star Trek, they always said "Locking on Target" and once you do that you are locked. But you have 2 wepons in the front and one at the rear, so how you are oriented decides what fires. Also you have 4 shields, so if you don't move or rotate, the shield closest to them will go down and then your ship is vulnerable unless you are able to spin, which gets harder the more damage you take.

It's kinda fun. You auto team when others enter your mission, but you can quit then and solo or quit some time after the mission is over or share a few missions. You get one crew member at start and you can get more as rewards or buy them with points. On land missions you can take up to 4 members with you, and any not selected are red shirts.

Much as I have my hands full with Aion, I have a very casual eye on Secret World. Ever since the announcement of WoDMMO I've been intrigued with the prospect of the nect MMORPG that could work in a contemporary setting. WoD is barely in the infancy of development, nothing will happen there for at least 5 years.

Secret Worlds on the other and is supposedly due out next year. Ordinarily I would be very excited, but unfortunately the game is being run my Funcom. After my experience with Funcom and their Age of Conan fiasco, SW will have to be one hell of a game for me to give these folks a single cent. Their teasers are very eye catching, but I have yet to see an in game footage.

The games I am most looking forward to are:

1.) Jumpgate Evolution - http://us.jumpgateevolution.com/ - I've been training to play this game my whole gaming life. Privateer, Wing Commander series, X-Wing vs Tie Fighter. Yeah I'm THERE.

2.) Global Agenda - http://www.globalagendagame.com/ - Got a chance to play this at DragonCon. I like strong, balanced PVP games and this looks like one and was genuinely fun to play. I also enjoy shooters, and this one for PVE seems like alot of fun. Combining it with an MMO should be interesting

3.) Star Wars: The Old Republic - http://www.swtor.com/ - I was unconvinced about this one until I saw the multi-player conversation system in action. Now I'm SOLD SOLD SOLD.

4.) Secret World - http://darkdaysarecoming.com - I love the concept, love the look I've seen, like alot of what I'm hearing. I will need to see some gameplay footage before I decide for certain, but I have high hopes for this game, despite it being by FunCom.

Games I'm eyeballing but unconvinced about:

1.) Stargate Worlds - http://stargateworlds.com/ -
I AM a Stargate fan, but the gameplay videos I've seen have left me... unconvinced... but some of the ideas like the minigames sound interesting. Some of the design decisions are... odd... however. Still, it's on my radar.

2.) Startrek Online - http://www.startrekonline.com/ - I am only kinda a Star Trek fan. More a casual star trek viewer than an active fan. I'm not that invested in the IP, and the gameplay has left me.... unconvinced... but the video actually did look better than I expected, so I'll keep it on my radar.
