As a solo player, my toons just consider this mission a "Sneak & Streak"
caper.
So, the disguise gets me in - I grab the goods and get the heck out.
Since all the baddies know where you are (ignoring stealth), and they're
all aggro'd on you, I've never had a toon that stuck around live through it.
I've always assumed that was by design and intent since the mission
"succeeds" after you get all the glowies. <shrug>

I agree. The best tactic when solo is to get in, poke the blinkies and get out as fast as you can when the ambushes activate.

Also, Darrin Wade is a 20-30 contact, which means it's possible for you to have Ouroboros access before infiltrating the midnight squad. If you don't intend to fight the armors and you can get into ouroboros, the most efficient way to do the mission is to drop the Ouroboros Portal right next to the last glowie, and hit OZ at mission complete.

This is one of the greatest missions in the game, because it is so different. It's not just a matter of clicking some glowies and killing everything in sight. Well, it can be if you are seriously bad ***, but it's not the default option. It feels like a heist, and I think that is awesome.
My favorite experience with this mission was running it on my Necro/FF Mastermind. Toggled PFF and just walked out, lol.

the best way i found has gotta be once you hit that last glowie hit self distruct no debt and all you have to do is go to hosp or base to complete mission

But even the first time, as soon as I got hit with a spear and realized what was happening, besides a reflexive rifle burst, I hit the super jump and made my way to the door as fast as possible. I still died just as I reached the door. I saw the door opening as he went to his knees then I transitioned. Almost but not quite. I was actually surprised the mission succeeded. I guess I used my last breath to crawl out the door and my medics were waiting with a medivac coptor.
I can tell you my MM has an itch to kill Darrin Wade for that debacle... especially when he revealed that he was stark raving mad at the end (as far as Agent Burns is concerned). When he got the Mercedes Shelden mission I was pumped! LOL
Anyway, I was only wondering if there was a trick to it or if escape really is the only way. If it is then it seems to me like a 50/50 crap-shoot depending on reflexes and which travel power you have (if any).
And I absolutely love the O-portal idea. Never occurred to me to use it inside a mission before.
His last mission to infiltrate the Midnighter's Club seems... well... difficult if approached like a normal mission.
