Newbie PVPer looking to join the ranks of the Elite. Not having much luck so far.
hmm well no your blaster is not that bad - you just need to learn tactics for a blaster - arch has high acc and a wicked snipe - you should switch to hover/fly and slot your aura for acc to ward off any hovering stalkers. New pvp is pretty brain dead so a single anything is not going to survive a group of 2-3 anything elses. You need to sum up your opposition and how to combat it.
Like I said snipe/fly/hover is good - add in tp for a second escape. Aura for melee protection. Most of the MM powersets are melee range or crappy range so you want to concentrate on your primaries. 300 mill will not get you a lot of ios so I would make acc/dmg/range a prioirty. If you can afford it proc out your two highest dmg atks.
Right now if you want survival I would say regen scrappers hero side, MA or Spines....
pvp is not easy to learn - you can be good on any toon if you know what your up against and how to combat it.
Sounds like you're outnumbered when you fight. The game is designed to be impossible when you're severely outnumbered. The best player in the game is designed to get owned if he's going against 5 complete newbies, simply because it's 1v5. Get a good team, and you should do a lot better.
So by procing out I assuming you mean that I should add as many Chance for Damage procs to my attack. Why the big damage attack and not the fastest recharging ones?
And yes, I am outnumbered... and often times out classed. One particular Archer/TA Corr has me every time.
I wouldnt worry man, your pretty badly outnumberd, if u wana get serious, re roll to psi, sonic or fire all with em.. And last but certainly not least, practice practice practice, skill is more important than a good build (most of the time)
Wait, so he's complaining about TA cors and you're telling him to get fly? lol

The main thing is definitely to just practice. And use inspirations.
Practice, learn to use and manage inspirations, and get your accolades. It's very easy to hit the HP cap on a Blaster with only a couple IO bonuses and a few accolades. 1606 HP is a lot harder to take down than 1204.
"the reason there are so many sarcastic pvpers is we already had a better version of pvp taken away from us to appease bad players. Back then we chuckled at how bad players came here and whined. If we knew that was the actual voice devs would listen to instead of informed, educated players we probably would have been bigger dicks back then." -ConFlict
This is not a build specific thread, but more of a tactical question... some backstory.
I've been wanting to get into the mix in PVP for a while now. I'm bored of the "Game" and want a new challenge. That... I have found.
I spoke with a PVPer with a fully tricked out Archer/energy and I thought, hey, I have an Archer/MM so I dumped about 100M into sets for him, picked up all the single target damage and all the "right" toggles, (snow storm, glacial armor, tactics, SS/SJ, Haste). Got a perception proc and some knockback protection... And I suck (or at least I feel like I do).
The moment I start attacking a vill. I get swarmed by 2-3 others and get annihilated. The doms and their stupid TA ground me while I get pounded. And a stalker stole my bow after they beat me with it.
So, the question is:
It appears as if the Red side dominates with TA Corrs, Pain MM's and SS/Fire Brutes. What does the blue side dominate with?
I would like a hero PVP toon which can take the damage and take down the Corrs and Stalkers with ease. I've got about 300M+ to put into the build... so what should I use? (and is my blaster really that bad?)
