Hmm... I haven't seen that one, but I've seen something else. If you try to load a villainous interface on a hero, it'll switch your window colours, but WILL NOT move your window colour sliders. So if you go to Graphics before you apply the changes and, as you said, threaten to move the sliders, your window colours will reset to what they were before. However, if you apply and close the window, next time you look, the sliders will have moved.

As for my solution, I just memorised the colour settings... At one point. I have since forgotten I know hero-side is 20-40-60, but I don't remember what villain-side is. I'm a bit too used to the interfaces, or I'd follow your example. It sounds actually quite clever

*Reduce text and UI size to around 80%.
*Add global channels to the top chat window.
*Load defaults and generic bind templates. (F7 is still broken, need to fix that)
*Move the nav bar to the top left; put target immediately next to it.
*Open map display and shrink it so it fits under the nav bar.
*Claim all useful veteran powers. Try to remember not to activate the sprints; they just make respecs that much harder.
*Set up 3 trays: 1 for attacks, 2 for toggles and misc, 3 for travel powers and more misc.
*Write people on my global friends list who have characters in my SGs or VGs, asking them to log on to one so that I can get an invite sometime.
*Run tutorial.
*Go to Atlas Park or Mercy.
*Defeat a few Hellions or Snakes for pocket change.
*Use pocket change to list the Tutorial inspirations on the auction house.
*Street hunt, sewer, or AE until I hit level 5.
*Log out of that character. Most heroes go for the Arena and Pocket D day jobs first, so I log out in Galaxy or Kings. Villains go for the Arachnos Base day job.

When I get into the SG:

*Grab 10 random SOs from the task force AV bin, and sell them.
*Grab a set of Halloween salvage, and turn it in.
*Make 2d costume at IP Icon, which is actually a bit safer than trying to get to the Steel one.

I tried saving and loading my keymappings with the buttons under the keymapping just yesterday and it didnt work.
Is there a trick for it?
(I'd appreciate if I didnt have to do console command hacks for things there are supposedly buttons for, that somehow got old somewhere in Counsterstrike 1.6 ...)

About the only thing you can get that's bigger than that is 1920x1200 (which I had on a laptop O.o). I'm not aware of anything bigger than that supported by a commercially available monitor that doesn't cost all the treasures of India and isn't an actual TV set.

I have the same procedure I carry out in the same order on every new character:

1) /hide from searches
2) Expand hotkey bar to all 3 bars
3) Options Menu: “Load Default Options File”, “Load Default Chat Settings” & “Load Default Window Settings”
4) /bindloadfile the .txt I made to re-assign the shoulder buttons of my mouse* and the F key (toggle-up bind)**
5) Move inspiration window
6) Claim veteran rewards
7) Drag powers to relevant hotbars***
8) Set up combat monitor****
9) Get SG invite + promotions (if my SG-mate is online) & enter SG mode
10) Play... (or logout if I'm keeping the character for a forthcoming duo/team or dxp weekend)

* to click-buffs like BU/Aim, Rage, Dom, AM, T9-godmodes, etc. or powers I need to access fast like Taunt, Placate, Hurricane
** F-key = turning on every toggle I run constantly (for log-in or after end-crash) then for toggling travel powers (e.g. alternating CJ/SJ)
*** Bar 1: ST attacks/controls; Bar 2: AE attacks, controls, debuffs, heals, ranged attacks for melee ATs, etc.; Bar 3: toggles, buffs, pets & utility powers; Bar 4: teleports & temp travel powers; Bar 5: other temp powers.
**** Move Speed, Regen, Recov, Base Def, a typed Res, Last Hit Chance, To Hit Bonus, Damage Bonus, Recharge Bonus, Stealth PvE (if applicable) - I like to know at a glance when any of these get debuffed.

  • Copypaste three macros from a text file for active window layout, mission review window layout and chat review chat and window layout
  • /bind_load_file universal.txt
  • Extend the power tray to show all three trays
  • Claim all available vet rewards
  • Place appropriate, less frequently used vet powers into one of the two vertical trays visible only in the mission layout window
  • Bullet points are sexy
  • Set up rotating AFK chat bubbles*
  • Sort the initial powers in the primary and alt tray - Sprint always being placed in the first slot of the alt tray. Self and ally-based click powers are placed in the first five slots of the alt tray, while attack powers take up the primary tray.
  • Go to options, turn off XP and crank up the SSK notification ranges.
  • Talk to the first tutorial contact.

*anyone using the bindloadfile version of rotating binds? I can't seem to make it work in conjunction with the AFK command, which doesn't appear in this case

I know. But at work, I'm on monitors that make the screen real-estate of 1920x1080 feel dinky.

Have this on my Thinkpad (1920x1200).

I still have a couple old CRTs at work that do above 2048x1536.
I also have a 30" LCD as my main, and yeah. Cost a fortune. About $2000 new at the time.

This.

And by defaults I assume your saved settings (it's what I mean.)

Maybe make it to a sewer team before going back to one of my other characters.
This, with a few variations on things like deleting and re-rolling the character to switch origins if I get a better idea for another one while running through the Zig. >.<

The save button for the keymapping is at the top of the keymapping tab.

The buttons at the bottom of the general tab are for everything else. Which is why I listed doing the keymapping first, and the general tab last.
