[Isolators] Meeting 10.21.09
I think I'll be there tonight.
Agua Man lvl 48 Water/Electric Blaster

"To die hating NCSoft for shutting down City of Heroes, that was Freedom."

I'll be there for sure. See you all then!
Guide: Tanking, Wall of Fire Style (Updated for I19!), and the Four Rules of Tanking
Story Arc: Belated Justice, #88003
Synopsis: Explore the fine line between justice and vengeance as you help a hero of Talos Island bring his friend's murderer to justice.
Grey Pilgrim: Fire/Fire Tanker (50), Victory
Team Hamster ran through a few random 25-30 missions and most of the General Z arc. Was on the last mission when most of the team went to bed, folded into the other two teams.
Looks like the target level is 31.
Planning on running Hess and Citadel back to back this weekend. Good way for people to catch up if they're below the target level.

Rock, rock on Hamster.
Those not on Team Hamster missed a fun debate about the usefulness of Stalkers (and to some extent, Scrappers). Good times.
It's interesting being on a Hamster team... other than my shields, my other mitigation powers (other than -res, I suppose) are useless... he throws out powers that negate my sleep and KB powers entirely. I feel like The Howler plays far differently on other teams, hehe.
Not that I don't have fun, Ham, just noting the difference.

On a side note, I really really hate resistance based scrappers. In hindsight I should have made this guy an Elec/SR instead of Dark/Elec or even a Traps/Sonic defender. This is the most non fun scrapper I have ever played... besides my Dark/Dark (sorry Des)
Who do I have to *&^% around here to get more Targeted AoE recipes added?
Arc Name: Tsoo In Love
Arc ID: 413575
I think my only kb power is nemesis staff...

Hmmm That's what happens when I run ahead, who keep lobbing that beach ball over their head?

Through, I tend to spam the CRAP out of my aoe immob. It's my main damage! And I LOVE the look of blue fire.

lol Hamster timed his knockback powers perfectly, just as I was hitting Soul Drain...

And Ham, one of your powers has to do some kind of KB/KD: you toss something out, it explodes, and mobs get knocked back. I remember it well. I know your obsession with your blue fire, as it took me a few missions a few weeks ago to realize that your spamming it negates my KB cone. I use it as my panic button if I'm taking too much damage or run into a mob (in other words, I don't spam "Ambush!" when I make accidental aggro

Rock, rock on Hamster.
It was bonfire heaven on the Ham Team!!
But hey.. I died a lot less this week.. so I was fine with whatever he was doing.
Ended up running on the Sister TF until midnight. It was fun! They even chatted with me a little bit even though I wasn't on Vent.
Ended up at 31.5. I think somebody said this, but the electric blaster does really miss that high level short range attack. I am struggling with the attack chain from range. I do really like the melee attack of electric. Those are fun. Well, I guess once power sink comes along it will get more even more interesting.
I have an elec blast defender, blaster, and corruptor. Imho, elec was the most awesome looking pre-power customization blaster power.
But LORD was it a poor performer. It not only misses the high damage/short range attack, it also only has one aoe.

I would have chatted with you all some, but Escher was the only one who condescended to speak with me while you were on your TF.

Elec/Elec is all about the Blapping, I think. You have ranged options, but your melee attacks are going to do some heavy damage that makes up for the lighter ranged attacks. Seemed like you were doing okay with that last night. Kept reminding me how wussy my Defender attacks are. Heh.

Grey, my conversation did not count?
Hope you enjoyed your resist shields!

I also have a Kin/Elec defender. I thought the idea of having an endurance drainer would be awesome; however I didn't realize that no matter how much endurance you drain from bad guys, they still attack you. Go figure...

my emp is /elec, which actually works very well. I typically try to buff everyone up, then jump into mobs and short circuit them. Typically with 2 applications everything lower then a boss has no end. This helps to reduce the need for me to spam heal other or rock the aura so I can keep everyone cm'ed and forted.
and he can pretend like voltaic sentinels actually help.
I hate to be the bringer of bad news... but Willpower sucks!!! you're better off rolling a regen

Tonite: Meeting 7-5
Target level: 29
The Plan: Continue on with Striga / late 20's contacts.
I figure we're likely to hit 31, so there will be a Hess and Citadel before next Wednesday.

For those unfamiliar with the group, Isolators was started shortly after badges were introduced to the game. This was in the dark, dreary times before global chat, global tells, or even coalition chat. Back then, the only way to find a person from the forums was by chance or pre-arranged meeting.
The Isolators project was started so the people who post here in Victory could actually meet and play together, so that you could have some fun with the people you chat with online. Everyone made a new character for this new group. This is an once a week supergroup that plays every 8 pm Wednesdays.
When the vast majority of the group hits 50, we start a new run of the group, switching between CoH and CoV between runs.
You don't have to be an active forum poster to join, through it's encouraged. At the very least, be a member of the community; run missions, join in advertised task forces, etc.
If you're interested in joining up this run, please feel free to post interest here. Everyone is welcome.
A few notes:
Everyone is not welcome.
This is an once a week sg. If the group ends up at level 20 at the end of the night, please don't show up next week at level 25.
If you're a few levels behind due to playing less, don't sweat it, but try to catch up on your own or with a task force if you can.
We play 8 pm eastern on Wednesdays.
