Well thermal's main tool is HE and that doesn't do anything to the MM's pets, I mean it might keep them from healing but you will still take plenty of damage. It really depends if the elec/therm has any aoe's and what kind of MM it is. Most pvp elec/therm's dont have much in the aoe department except short circuit, but if you went Mu you can short circuit + power sink them which will completely sap all pets....
Really can't tell, depends on builds.
My ele/therm beat a good thug/pain. Surprisingly i did it much different then i orginially planned.
Instead of draining his pets, i used heat exhaust on him, got my Mu to distract the pets while i drained him of his end. I killed him with all his pets up, but he couldn't heal so i eventually won.
Thug/pain are usually the hardest for any AT to kill, so i can imagine taking anything else.
With the except of maybe a /dark who has their pet healing for them.

Beating a good player behind anything is hard, espically an easy button like a Thug/Pain MM.
That's why i created my ele/therm. To balance.
When an easy-button thinks he's special, i break out mine, so we can truely see whos better....because they usually don't wanna switch for some stupid reason.
The battle was hard, espically because heal decay was on, and thugs do a ton of damage even at ranged. And even if i got his pets end low, which i could only do in melee range, the bruiser with painbringer would KoB me. I'm just lucky the old build had 2 KB IOs stuck somewhere in it.
I'd use inspirations if i needed them, i'm not that weak

Beating an easymode toon on another easymode toon doesn't make you good. It's like winning the Special Olympics, really. Who was this "good player," by the way? Given that it's Justice I'm sure I've run into them at some point. Did the MM even bring or use inspirations? If not, we can throw out your "good player" theory pretty quickly.

If you killed him with all his pets still up, I am doubting he is a good MM. And if he brought the proper insp, the only useful power (HE) of thermal would be useless and you would be creamed or it'd be a draw cause you were avoiding him...

O fyi elct/thermal corr was a hard one to kill on my bot pain MM but I did kill one.
I dont do arena much on my MMs RV is where its at. :P

Also it's more like the steroid olympics, since anyone in the special shouldn't be able to beat those in the normal under normal circumstances.
If someone is uses steroids, i will also so we're on the same level.

There's no opinion or thinking too it. Watch an AR/traps cor vs a thug/pain MM. There are such things as OP and horrible builds. And i've seen good players get destroyed by a noob using a thug/pain.

There's nothing you can do when your health is dropping and you have no way to heal.
I actually believe at one point i completly ran away to heal, but i was letting HE soak in, and i knew i could win if i needed too.

lolz no inspirations against a elec/therm. If it was not for con and Mac being from justice i would have to say lolz justice. But every server has there leet duelers. I guess it just so happens to be you. The only thing that would even come "close" to beating a elec/therm without inspirs would be. Ill/emp, fire/BS/elec scrapper, or a necro/posion MM. Anything else would get wrecked.

No sorry, i might if i remembered, but all the thug/pains look the same, they have a bunch of thugs around them, have that aura, and usually some cape or hat.
Yea who would ever agree to a match they couldn't win? Maybe someone who wants a challenge. I learn the most from a duel when i lose, so sometimes i go against the odds so i can learn more, and there are some times i've even won those matches i thought i'd lose.
