Elec/Elec...any fun?

I've started one of these and I'm currently at level 10.

It's "fun" so far. I always wanted to have a damage aura power and knockback resistance without needing IO's.

This set seems like a great AoE combo.
Has anyone made one of these into the higher levels?
If so, how does it/you play?

On paper it seems like this can be build to be pretty sturdy with good slotting and playstyle.

Still no replies...

I think that answers my question.

Lol you don't give people time do you? Best one I saw was someone post in the early hours on the EU forums, give it like 20 mins and then claim no one had the balls to answer. XD

Plus I am sure people have already addressed this so a little search fu might of helped. With builds, no one is going to want to completely make someone a Invuln/SS everyweek because they can't be bothered to research. Plus half the time you do a build for someone you have no idea if they even came back to look at it.

Right, on paper it should be up to the job. If not slap yourself. If its not you; it's everyone else; not allowing you to play to your strengths; or playing alongside you like you was a Icetank when you are not; or a Stonetank when you are not etc; then get a new set of friends because different tanks can mean different methods.

Probably fun.

Try it for 10 levels or so, but then again, that's only 10. And, really, different people like different things.

My Elec/Elec is the most fun I've had tanking in a long time. While not as durable as some of my other tanks, the fun factor is off the charts. Just got Lightning Rod, which just adds to the multi-target chaos of Jacob's Ladder, Chain Lightning, and Thunderstrike. I feel like his damage outpaces both my Fire/Ice and my Inv/SS. I get a load of mitigation in the form of Power Sink; got it slotted with 2 Recharge and 3 EndMods. I just hop in, hit Sink, then my AoE attack chain, and it pretty much floors everybody's blue bars. Threw and EndMod into Lightning Field to help keep them drained. It's funny to stand in the middle of a huge mob and watch them stand around unable to attack. For the record, I'm typically running either solo at +1/5 or in 3-4 person groups at +2/5. I think I could easily bump up either difficulty or spawn size and still roll. Anyhow, sorry to be so long-winded, but I think you'll find that it's a power pairing that's fun and fairly novel.

I don't know about elec/elec, but I can say that elec/ice is fun. Mine's level 38 now. Haven't hit any major snags yet, but I also haven't tackled anything particularly difficult. I get the impression, though, that Electric Armor isn't winning any popularity contests.

I made an elec/elec tank though only at lvl10 as well I have a little experience with EA because of my lvl50 brute. And that's the interesting thing...based on my experience I had no intention of making another EA toon (see brute forum to get a sense of EA popularity heh).

However, the devs did buff up the tanker version of EA to the point that it will tank anything just fine. The brute version is a bit squishy for my tastes considering LRSF. I went electric melee for thematic purposes but the set has some fun powers, most notably Lightning Rod and Thunder Strike which means an investment in time and effort.

Once Power Sink gets slotted up some (can be up every mob group), you become the energizer bunny that keeps going and going. I expect the end result will be what I had in mind as compared to what I envisioned with my EA brute.

I went with stone melee so that I would have Fault and Tremor to help out on crowd control. One of the few tanks that I really appreciate having the Wedding Band for in the 20s and 30s. Now with tough I hardly use the WB anymore.
