800 million ae challenge update

I was convinced by several prominent sg leaders to tone it down and remember what we stand for. AOW is here as a community sg and as such we should not let a few players change who we are. AOW Events are now back open to the public.

The AOW 800 MILLION AE CHALLENGE will still go on as planned, the rules still the same.
The 10 fastest teams through the ae mission ID 334806 (already published) The Army Of Phaedra wins prizes. Grand Prize up to 800 MILLION.

Pay scale for team is 100 million per member on the team. 2nd place finishers would get 50 million per member. 3rd place 25 million each. 4th place 10 million each. 5th-10th place would still win 5 million each. The event should last 20-60 minutes.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IMPORTANT: The event date has been changed to Oct 18th (Sunday) at 9pm est.

The reasons for the change is:
AOW sg leaders cannot make it:
Solarflames is at a wedding
Shaawiing is working (military)
Apocrypha will be with family
Felecia Divine will be with grandmother moving furniture

and we cant forget this is double xp weekend so HAVE FUN THAT IS AN ORDER

remember the only catch to the event is teams must be made up of sg members only. Teams are made of 1-8 players, so yes, you can solo this.

while its very nice of you to allow the jerks into your super community event, I thought it was 8 billion or something like that?

that is a later event, Sonic

Ok, the 8bill challenge is on Dec. 13th - that's AOW's anniversary

I'm glad to see you letting the community back into your events. This going to be for everything including RWZ raids? Is BMT welcome yet?

I'm sure there will be more. There's never a shortage here on Champion.

This is a reprint from the AOW website.

Congratz:

WINNERS (800 Million): TEAM: ALL-OUT-WAR (31 minutes)
Leader: Apochrypha
Prixy
Illyana Radburner (Battling Beastman)
Solarflames
Elite Tank (Shaawing)
Haarvey (Darkness Explosion)
Fear My Sword
Destroyer of AV's (Dave Mebs)

2nd place (400 Million): TEAM: PROTECTORS OF NEVERLAND (37 minutes)
Leader: Xx13udweiserxX
Toxic Shock Syndrome
Iron Short Circuit
Casey's Cliffhanger

3rd place (200 Million): TEAM: HAMMERS OF JUSTICE (45 minutes)
Leader: DeliCate IcePHIRE
DeliKate IcePHIRE
Bullet McGraw

4th place (100 Million): TEAM: CROWD CONTROL COMMANDOES (47 minutes)
Silent-Stealth (solo)

5th place (50 Million): TEAM: CONFUSION (default)
Lightningcat (solo)

6th place (50 Million): TEAM: ALL-OUT-WAR-CYBERTECH (default)
Gadgetter (solo)

My comments: The event ran very well and many had a good time.
Dave Mebs is a RINGER! He has won all 3 events for 3 different sg's. That speaks volumes about his skills.
Protectors of Neverland had 4 people. If they would have had 8 they would have had a better time.
Hammers started late and still finished well so i am sure AOW, PoN and HoJ will run great competition at the next event.
4 teams quit.
default means that after the top 4 sg's made it and the other 4 quit, the remaining 2 teams were given a break and given thier prizes.
The members of AOW spent time teaming and enjoying each others company for a couple of weeks and were prepared for this event, BIG CONGRATZ and well done.

hey - i have ZERO complaints. Personally, i think Felecia ran the event fair and well.....
yeah, i woke up hella late but figured to join in to still have fun and represent.
What were we - 12min late to the event which counted against us :P

Didnt know all SG's would start at the same time - which is smart. Could have taken at least 2nd place, grabbed 1 person on the fly. If i had been able to grab another aoe'r or taunter, could have beaten AOW in their own game. In "real time", was only 4min off of them.... spent one of those minutes trying to convince another to join real quick before getting in...... next time, i'll be there on time and have a stronger organized showing

Our team got a 200M reward for 3rd place - who's gonna complain about that?

Nicely done Phire. I'm a great AoE'er XD lol no but really...
Sounds like you had a good time.

Those are some pretty cool times posted above and looks like there were was a showing of various SG's.

Next time maybe I'll get some Pingu's to come out for a 100 man death (3 hours) just for fun... make everyone wait for us (j/k)

Congratulations, Apochrypha and team.

no one else finds it odd that aow wins 1st place in an aow event?

who tested these arc's? aow members.

not to be debbie downer and all.. but.. really?

Personally, I dont think its right allowing your own members to participate in their own sg's event.. such as this.

Thats the RINGER.

as I typical dont remimber these events, so I dont go to them. I seen the PHiRe twins run and they do move through mobs, nice two see them placing even with the last show.

PHiRe: if if you need an extra body and I am on (can find me in the UHB chat) shoot me a tell.

I agree that SG's shouldn't be allowed to compete in their own events. However its their event and they can run it how they want to. She has made it clear many times their members will always be allowed to compete in their events. So anyone with a problem with it already has the headsup not to participate.

People complained i posted the events way to far in advance and i advertise them too much. Now you know why i do it, so everyone who wants to prepare can be ready. All of you were very much aware of the event and what would be involved.

With so many members in AOW to not include them would be very wronge. Not to mention this is an AOW event and inviting the public is a bonus for you guys. We could have run it just for members but AOW is about helping the public too, we are a Supergroup not a charity foundation. We are trying to include you in our sg's fun events so make the most of it.

I have always run fun and FAIR events. Not once have i allowed cheating. Never have i favored my sg over others in events. To ensure i dont cheat to your satisfaction i usually have a co-judge from outside sg's to keep an eye on me, something i dont have to do, but i do it for your benefit. 2 years running 1-4 events per month you should trust my judgement by now.

Now that i have finished with the Drama - Let's talk about doing another event, Dec. 13th is a long way off. If you guys want one more 800 Million AE Challenge in November we can do it but i want to know you guys want one.
Nov. 22nd at 9pm est looks to be best. If you have a better date and time for your sg let me know and we will try to work something out. This will give sg's time to prep for the event, use ID #334806 as a guide as to what to expect.

AOW won the event primarily because they were smart enough to bring 8 ppl and spread them out covering more ground. There is no way favoritism could have been applied. All of you were informed long ago about the event and the missions used to prep for it. You could have gotten involved and been prepared.

PoN, HoJ, and AOW are competitive so expect lots of fun and close speed times recorded in the next event.

Special note to Protectors of Neverland - Actions speak louder than words (something i always say) and Budweiser and his crew are making me eat my words. I have noticed more members of PoN active on teams, i saw members out in atlas explaining keymapping and e-motes to new people with NO sg, and PoN has been active in events from many different organizations, so........WOW! I am impressed. Until now i would not team with a member of PoN, but now they are active in the community so i will help any member of PoN who needs me!

Oh i noticed someone asked who tested these events. That would have been the sg's Guardian Wolf Pack and EXTREME TEAM, and yes PHIRE and i did a test run together. Thought you should know i am still trying to be fair. But anyone could have tested it and give suggestions. I am still open to suggestions for the next one as well.

Thanks to Guardian Wolf Pack sg for going through 5 maps to find a suitable one for the event (some maps are glitched)! Thanks to EXTREME TEAM for making sure the event would be tough enough and long enough. Thanks to PHIRE for running it through with me to see if it would work at all (she and i did the final run through and i made the final changes after she left just to give her a few surprises - your welcome with the Crey Scorpinoid Deathstalker, bet you didnt see that coming ).

All because of you Felecia..

I have a suggestion felecia. Maybe post the mission a week or two ahead of time? (You would of course need a new mission ID # so that teams couldnt get a headstart)

Posted

despite misgivings, i was aware that the 800M challenge AE mission was availabe in about 2 weeks prior or so. This was fairly posted up on the blueboards - claims that AOW would be so practiced vs other participating SG's are NOT very valid at all.

like before, i'd assume she would post up the new AE a couple weeks prior, if not more. She also gave a hint that the next Challenge would be like the previous one, and to use the 800M Challenge map for practice. This she broadcasted in AP after the event was done... saying this for those who weren't there in participation, and complaining about invalid/biased information...

Oh, I didn't realize she posted the mission ahead of time before.

Lmao, are you kidding me? While Bud might be an ******* most the time the SG that he runs is full of very helpful and experienced gamers. Hell his head council is full of some of the best Vets this server has to offer. They are like so many other very active SG's on the server, they are always doing stuff within their own SG and teaming with their own SG that you won't see them on PUG's as much as you might some less active SG's.

YOur self imposed importance never ceases to amaze me. Refusing to team with entire SG's because you don't deem them to be good enough? JFC you are a koolkid. Please add LES to your list of SG's you refuse to team with, I don't want my guys to accidently get infected with your ****** cooties. While you are adding them to that list can you send me a list of what it is that makes you such a fabulous gamer compared to everyone else? I am thinking I need to improve my gaming skills because I don't think even after 4 years and 23 content leveled 50's that I am remotely good enough to look down at the masses like you do.

Ok I am going to sleep now, I am feeling grumpy.

Solo AVs in 15 seconds. Duh.

Don't take it personally if you think I was mean to you. I'm an ******* to everyone.
