So i take it that most people don't worry to much about sticking procs in auras.
Auras are actually a decent place to put them, since they're usually always on. It's basically free extra damage, since you were going to be paying the endurance cost of the toggle anyways.

well a damage aura is going to get about the same DOT from one slot used as a proc or if used as a damage SO.
With IO slotting you may get close to 95% damage buff and have extra slots available to use as procs that would essentially 'exceed' the ED cap in some sense.
Typical damage procs hit for 72, which over 10 seconds is 7.2 damage and only at a 20% chance so really 1.44 dps comapred to an average damage aura hitting for 12 (24 slotted) every half a second and at a much higher rate (75-95% accuracy usually) isn't very good.
Procs are best used in attacks that can be used faster than 10 seconds since you get much better dps out of them.

What about sticking 3 or 4 procs in an aura like icicles?
My ice/fire tank has a sirrocco's dmg proc in icicles, and a impeded swiftness dmg proc and whatever the slow proc is in chilling embrace. There's always a sea of DOT surrounding him, but i track the slow proc in my combat log, and it goes off at least once per fight on multiple enemies, so i figure the dmg procs are doing the same. The procs in my attacks, particularly the aoe's, are better dps for sure.
If i were to put more than one dmg proc in icicles, i would probably spend 3 or 4 slots frankenslotting acc/dmg/end to get those values as high as i could, before adding in procs. I just opened Mid's and i could get 51/74/74 acc/dmg/end in 4 slots, using lvl 35 IOs, which isnt bad at all. That leaves 2 slots for procs. Try it if you have the money/respecs and see if you like it.

Well I have room to 6 slot icicles. And with energy absobption Im never hurting end wise. So I am not slotting much end reduction like I normally would in stuff. So I can either put 3 damage procs in it. Or only one and get 3 more points of damage every pulse. I suck at math so i dunno whats better 3 points of damage every what 2 seconds, or 2 extra procs.
How would a Impeded swiftness proc work in Chilling embrace. And an Eradication proc in Icicles? They would have chances to fire every how often?
