SM/WP, problems with TF's.

I mainly use this toon for ITF and LGTF.

I worked on +HP and +Regen, and am still falling short on living.
I do ok when I remember to juggle Fault, and toggle someone with Darkest Night. But I feel I shouldn't NEED to use Darkest Night just to survive a mob.
Regular gameplay I do great. I'm just feeling a tad bit squishy for these TF's and want to better it.
Figured I should respec into a build focusing on +Def, but then I get this question.
Should I focus on S/L defence, or F/I/E/N def to compliment Heightened Senses?

I don't have the stone part (ss instead), but the willpower part should be fine. I have more resistance slotted in high pain tolerance than health. 3 health and 3 res in it, and my regen is only at 98% or something but it seems to come back fast enough that I never die if I'm the one pulling everything. I use dark obliteration on huge groups and stomp then cycle through it all and repeat.

Cimerorans do mostly lethal damage (and -def) with their swords ... I'd build up my lethal defense by 4 slotting Kinetic Combat (and slot the remainder to improve the accuracy of the attacks to counter all the +defense they start gain when close to each other)

Next grab a Steadfast res/+3%def and add it in (I stole a slot from Gloom to 4 slot Mind over Body).

Next I'd swap out the Titanium Coatings for Reactive Armor. You're way over the rule of 5 cap for +22.5 hit points (once the Kin Combat are in place). The Reactive Armor will add more +energy/neg energy defense.

This is roughly what I have after making those changes. Like to get more global accuracy and +recovery but ... it's a start I hope for further tweaks.

Slot for +hp and defense, and then add numina's and regenerative tissue for a bit of extra +regen. The rest of +regen will come as a side effect of your slotting. You should stuff in 5 kinetic combats and as many reactive armors in your res toggles as you can. You can also do some tweaks like putting 2 rectified reticles in build up for 1.88 S/L defense and such.

If you rely on regeneration only, you might have problems with alpha or big hits from bosses and AV. Actually, if darkest night works for you, it's a good power to supplement willpower.

For my willpower tanker, I softcapped f/c/e/n. I do slot for s/l defense, but it's not softcapped, because I think the s/l resistance can add up with defense to give a decent mitigation. It's your choice though, some people like to max their s/l protection and consider the other damage types much less important. For ITF, your s/l defense will only be effective for only a while anyway because of stacking defense debuff.

Not every power allows you to slot for defense bonus, so there should still be room to enhance your +hp/+regen as well.
