When I have an accuracy modifier from let's say an IO that gives 16% accuracy bonus. Is that truly 16% or X 1.16 modifier, and did I just say the same thing.

Same for resistance. Let's say I slot a damage resistance IO that gives 20% damage reduction, does that mean I take 20% less damage. So an attack that normal deals 10 points would only deal 8 instead.

I'm not a numbers guy, but when I slot something that says 20%, then I look at the defense or DR and it changed from 1 to 1.20 against ranged attacks.

I really do hate numbers, lol.

Okay, enhancements work differently than the IO set bonuses. I'm going to start with enhancements.

Let's say that you have a power that grants 10% Resistance for ease of math. You slot it with an IO that gives 20% value for DamRes. Your power will now grant you 12% Damage Resistance. That's because 10 * 20% = 2. 2 + 10 = 12. Or, for better math, 10 * 1.2 = 12.

Now, set bonuses work as additive effects on top of what you already have.

So, taking resistance again, if you have 10% Resistance to Smashing and Lethal damage, and you have a set bonus that gives you 5% Resistance to S/L damage, then you have 15% Resistance. It's a straight-up additive modifier, rather than a multiplier.

It gets a little tricky with Accuracy since there's two types of accuracy: ToHit Bonus, which is an additive bonus (a 10% ToHit bonus would make 50% become 60%) and a multiplicative bonus called Accuracy (a 10% Accuracy bonus would make 50% become 55%).

Enhancements (whether normal enhancements or IOs)which enhance the Aspect of Accuracy are true Accuracy and are multiplicative.

Accuracy from IO Set Bonuses are also true Accuracy and are multiplicative.

Accuracy of 6% from the Kismet Special IO is misnamed. It is not Accuracy but an additive ToHit Buff globally applied to all attacks.

Hover for example, I have a level 10 blaster that has this. The defense is 1.75%. If I add a defense IO that adds ten percent, then the defense would be 1.92% roughly, is that correct?

Follow up, for damage that adds let's say 25%, and the power does 20 points, it would then do 25 points.

I downloaded it, but I am just trying to understand the numbers. When you use Mid's, can you cut it off at certain levels, just to plan one stage at a time?

unfortunately no, you cant. i just tried by picking up to my lv 8 power and set it to +3 lvs and it still put lv 50 enhances in.

When you're selecting the enhancement you can just type the level you want it to be.

There's a setting in options I think that allows you to specify the level of the enhancements you're slotting. For TO, DO & SO enhancements that's simply a -3 to +3 of your level but for IO's you can designate everything to be level 30 for example.

When I'm planning a build I always figure my enhancements at level 35.
