Default colors and global options

2 questions:

1) Can email be turned off for all of my toons by setting one option? I'm not interested in leaving it on for any of my 45 characters.
2) Is there a way to default the colors for what I see if I don't want to see someone's hot pink fire blasts?

Thanks and regards,
Fitz

I don't know if you can do the email by default for everyone.

And no, there is not way to turn of people's power customizations. And that option shouldn't be added.

No, the e-mail preference is per character.

Not for nothing, but what do you care what somebody else sees on their screen? Why not have the option to have standard colors for those who don't want to see the Rainbow? It doesn't affect you in any way.

I can see it both ways. Its part of a costume, you can't select to see neon toons in a more toned down costume, so in that sense the powers should be seen how the creator saw fit. However since powers have had default colors then I can see the desire for others not to see them and only see their own powers changed.

I have no preference either way. The option could be added without harm to anyone or never be added.

I designed my costume and powers to look a certain way because that is how I want everybody to see my character.

But you'd never know the difference.

Thanks for the responses and you're right Master-Blade.

If the creator has a well thought out costume and chose decent colors then fine. But there are going to be those people that will choose the brightest colors possible for their attacks. I would only be able to stand looking at hot pink fire blasts for so long.

I had teamed with someone a while back who had a pink bakcground in their chat bubble with purple text. It was terrible and thankfully I was able to turn the chat balloon option off.

My eyes just can't take that type of thing for very long.

I'll log a suggestion to have this feature added. Doubtful it'll happen any time soon but at least I'll have the suggestion out there.

Doesn't matter at all. When someone makes a costume it should be shown the way it was designed. People put a lot of time and effort into their costumes and they deserve to have their creations shown as they designed them.

Not if someone's being obnoxious with their power color choices on purpose.

Consider it a profanity filter for costumes.

EDIT: You're assuming everyone is as responsible as you are.

Agreed.

However, for those of us who do design cool costumes, I have to agree with da Munki too. Unfortunately, it is a bit too idealistic to conclude that even most people give a crap if they look good or not.

You're calling me responsible? Somebody doesn't know me very well

I support the idea that we should be able to force our local computer to display only the standard powersets.

I've noticed performance degradation that's pegging my CPU usage at 100% and dropping my framerate to around 20 fps when grouped with players who have customized powers. It's too early to say whether this is caused by the usual post-patch server instability or by customized powers taking up extra juice for some reason, but I'd like to be able to force the defaults to fix performance.

If power customization is causing performance issues, then that overrides everything I said.

Well I submitted the bug and we'll see where it goes from here.
