Pride/any global channel super sidekicking idea.
...What's your idea?
Also: IBTL because people aren't capable of being mature and this thread will inevitably devolve into fighting, etc.
"You don't lose levels. You don't have equipment to wear out, repair, or lose, or that anyone can steal from you. About the only thing lighter than debt they could do is have an NPC walk by, point and laugh before you can go to the hospital or base." -Memphis_Bill
We will honor the past, and fight to the last, it will be a good way to die...
How can you IBTL? I haven't heard the idea yet.
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
I'm suggesting that reference to the global channel in question will invoke childish bickering. Of course, most things on this board invoke childish bickering, but I trust you understand what I mean.
Also, I'm glad it's not just me that didn't see where the idea was in that.

Yeah, I'm not seeing the idea either.
Umm... OP, can we get some clues tossed in?

I think I might understand... I think he's pointing out that from a gameplay perspective, a global channel that isn't server specific will run into issues when people want to do more than just chat, and want to organize a team for something. With super sidekicking, level matters hardly little, so if the player has a character on that server, they can just play it. If they don't, they could just roll a new character and join up without having to worry about finding mentors.
I believe that's what he was getting at. The idea isn't really new, it's the application to global channels that before were largely limited to be social gathering places rather than being able to be teaming places.

It's not how many times you get knocked down that count. It's how many times you get up.
Exactly right! Thanks for helping to clarify! Super sidekicking will make teaming easier in many ways and this is ultimately just one aspect of that. While I doubt I'm the only one to arrive at this conclusion, spreading the word just seemed the neighborly thing to do.

Yeah, in RO when we first heard about SSKing, we pretty much said, "This is practically made for us." 'Cause, y'see... we already do the whole cross-server teaming deal. It's what happens when your channel is populated by players spread over multiple servers.
I don't know how other globals handle it, but for RO it's just par for the course. SSKing just made it so we can leave off a bit when announcing the various teams we've got going.

The best way to spread the word to those in the Pride Channel that SSKing makes teaming easier is to put in in the Pride Channel's MOTD so that all those logging on can see it.

Well, it seems to me that he was not only "spreading the word" on SSK, he was also giving a small advertisement for the Pride channel itself and making people aware it was in existence...
...which would be pointless to do in the Pride Channel's MOTD, since... Everyone who's in that channel already is...well....in that channel already.

Oh I've been hyping the idea on Pride basically every time I'm logged on. My hope was to spread it to users of other global channels in case this aspect of SSKing hadn't yet occured is all. Pride's current MOTD is occupied with another topic through the 13th. After that, yes I intend to push for it there too.
Advertising Pride? Wasn't meant conciously but I have a hard time not doing some kind of adwork as a general rule.

Hello all. Shortly after Positron explained super sidekicking, where all team members will be SKd/Exemped/LKd/Mald to the mission owner minus one level, I had an off the cuff idea on Pride channel and feel it is worth sharing. But 1st some background...
Pride is the main GLBT channel in the game and as such we attract players from all servers. While this all inclusive approach is fantasticly successful on a social level, getting folks to actually play together has been difficult.
Now super sidekicking is about to enter the picture and suddenly teaming together just got MUCH easier. The only barriers will be having toons on a server and faction. So if there are other players on Pride or any other globally-oriented channels that haven't had this idea occur yet please enjoy.
