So looking forward to dinner and seeing everyone!

and what's this about a trek exhibit? I may have to drag Scimi to see it. i don't want him to be Trek ignorant or the parents will never agree to him as a son in law.

Yes, but what time will we be doing the breakfast? I need to plan for this sort of thing, as I'm not exactly a morning person, and I want to be sure I'm up and about and at an appropriate meeting place to hitch a ride there

Agreed. Since the hotel is so close to home, I opted to skip getting a hotel room this time around & will need to know when to show up.

Now some folks have found where specific times for when the events are taking place & I figure that will likely be our best guide, but my search-fu is weak. HALP!!!

Also... FYI the Holder's on Saratoga tends to get busy, especially on the weekends. I think the reason we were able to be seated as easily as we were last time was because we hit them after the breakfast rush & got there about brunch o'clock (I think most of us got there around 10-11AM). The down-side would be missing out on whatever might be scheduled at that time.

RG, I didn't get the sense that Holder's was the type of place to take reservations...but if there's going to be a large group going to Holder's, do you think there's any chance to cut down on the wait time if someone gave them a call ahead to give them a heads up that there'll be an extremely large group showing up?

My hula school makes similar courtesy calls whenever we eat at restaurants during our outings (I think they call a day or two before). Even those restaurants that insist that they will not take reservations are usually more than happy to make accommodations when they hear that the group is going to be *really* large.

Yeah, with the schedule this year, I think we'd wanna be there early so as not to miss the good stuff.

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

Well...

That begs the question, who's going? Time for a new bacon waffle-icious thread???

If Holdens doesn't take reservations and there's a large group going, maybe you could stagger the groups by 20-30min intervals? It would be harder to set up ahead of time, I think, but that way the place doesn't get swamped by so many very loud, obnoxoius, non-morning-type gamers. ;P
