DM/FA Brute
I have enjoyed this build for a few years now. I slotted Obliteration and Touch of Death IO sets for maximum Melee def, a couple of Crushing Impact for the Rechg, while slotting up my shields for the resistance Res+Def>>>Def OR Res. I took Air Superiority for the KB mitigation (Its a great attack!) 4 pieces of Cloud Senses in Touch of Fear great for AVs and more mitigation in pulled too many situations.. Stamina gets 4 pieces of Perf Shifter. 3 Luck of the Gamblers planned for (Dont have them all yet) gives great rech, worth the price (with a little patience). Combat Jumping, Hover, Weave for Def; Fire Shield, Plasma Shield, Tough, Temp Prot for Resistance. Hasten is NOT in the build; it was a hard choice between Hasten and CJ. You might prefer Hasten.
Planned global bonuses: Rech ~53%, Acc ~66%, Melee def ~22% (before toggles), Recov ~22%.
Its not a super build, but it solos pretty well and teams aok too. I enjoy having the 3 PBAoEs up pretty often; I go solo to the fab, pop a little purple or 2, herd me up a clump of Crey or Arachnos, and triple-tap the PBAoEs, then drop whats left with MG/SL/AS/SM. By the time I drop the executioners and the Paragon Protectors, the PBAoEs are back up and ready. And my fury is near the top
so I move to the next herd spot. End is NEVER an issue. Its quite fun!

I got a DM/FA in mid 40's atm and I am absolutely loving it!
But if you want AoE damage machine DM/ is not your best choice. Soul Drain and Dark Consumption are on a pretty long timer. Better picks are elec/ or SS/ (for the marvellous footstomp).
Had a quick glance at your build though and a couple of things I noticed:
-smite is unslotted. If you want good dam output, you better fully slot it.
-hasten is very nice to get healing flames up quicker (and your attacks also ofc). Personally I'd swap flight pool for superspeed for this, although like the previous poster has aid AS is a nice attack and I had it before my last respec.
-Tough is very valuable imo, you could try getting that in earlier.
-Plasma shield at 38?? :S This is your hold+sleep protection and provides some decent nrg res, you should take it at lvl 16 asap. I refuse to believe you played without it so far till your mid 30's. Must be a mistake in your build I suppose...
- I found I don't need both DC and Cons after IO sets. DC has better net end regain per mob and more dam, but Cons has double the radius of DC. Whatever suits your style better. Or keep both if you like ofcourse.
-And as far as epics go: electric fences being an AoE is a lot easier to handle then tentacles being a cone. Electric fences imo is the best tool to keep mobs in your burn patch.
-last, but not least: I'm not gonna nitpick all your slotting, but I'd like to advice you to put 2 accu in DC/Cons and SD before you start slotting IO (sets). They are on a relatively long timer and you don't want to miss mobs with these gorgeous power.
Have fun!
I see your point about burn, dont don't forget you got two patrons that have a AoE Immob. They cant run then! Something to consider.
Well I have a Dm/Fa which I have a few billion into. The way to do it right is to go with mu. Lightning Ball and elec fenses are very good aes and alot better recharge time then Dark consumption and Soul Drain. With High global recharge you can get Soul Drain and Dc off one per group of mobs in a fast moving team. 30-35 sec recharge. Then with Soul drain & Fiery embace buffing you pop off Mu Aes. Keep in mind that elec fense target Ae root w/ burn can be a nice combo as well. So between Blazing aura, Mu aes, burn, Dark consumption, Soul drain and Fiery embrace + damage you can do a ton of ae damage in a very short time. Also consume is a nice toy if you have room in your build, 20 radius ae, which can be decent if you put a lot of proccers in as well as good taunt to keep mobs nice and close.
Overall the build can be a ton of damage but it aint cheap. The down side is you aint building tank for sure. That the up side with Soul Mastery, you get alot of proctection which FA lacks with no def. So loading up acc/dam debuffs on darkest night is a very nice tool to have.
So once again do you want a nicely balanced toon or a monster.
In the end the Elec brutes all cry Foot Stomp cant be better then all my AEs. Well It is and that goes for Dm/Fa as well.
But its alot more fun to have alot of good cool powers then just one or two great ones. And DM/FA gets alot of great tools which in the end do balance out.
With Blaze Mastery coming out, I'd consider going Scrapper vs Brute. Slightly squishier but you're getting Fireball which gets massively buffed by Fiery Embrace.
That's what I'm going to do, anyway.
Thanks guys. Appreciate the help. Few things...the mids build is for after respec, so the location of the powers doesn't matter a bit to me. (But, doing AE farms to lvl, so I've not needed mez/hold protection at ALL, just KB, which I bought the IO for).
Also, thanks for the advice about Hasten. yes it IS a good power. If you'll look again at the build you'll see that I already have it in there.
One of the biggies I'm wrestling with is whether or not to take the Rise of the Phoenix or not. Time will tell on that one I suppose. Yay Test Server.

Couldn't find what I was looking for in the Guides section (Most of htose are pretty old also) but I'm working on my DM/FA brute, and as I get into the mid-thirties I'm wondering if this is going to be able to do what I want it to...
That is namely, AoE damage macine.
I took the two sets together because of the following reasons:
1) Each set has an End gaining power, that also does AoE damage (Small, but it's there)
2) There are two heals, one is respectable and fast, the other is an attack that nets life.
3) It's a resist set (Can't stand DEF anymore. Too easy to die with it)
4) There's one cone attack, 4 PBAoE's (one is a toggle), and a PBAoE stun/damage in the self-rez
5) has a self rez
6) Two built in damage buffs plus my fury bar.
But as I mentioned, it's getting more apparent that there seems to be a synergy lacking. Beyond the single target attacks that I use to fill space between the AoE's (using Siphon Life as my auto-attack) It doesn't seem like the damage is superior.
Keeping Fury almost at max is relatively easy with Blazing Aura. I'm kinda teetering on the fence with Burn. Making the mobs run seems counter productive for the damage exchange.
I have to say Firey Embrace and Soul Drain are VERY nice together. Especially for the BA.
So, for the TL;DR crowd, does anyone have a build like this? and is it very productive? HEre's my projected build. I'm at 35 now. Only IO so far is the no KB one.
