That would be "Using the gasoline can against an incoming zombie horde - as a melee weapon."

.
Requiem, IIRC, was retconned from a "mysterious source" to the Nictus.

Also, not to quote myself... ok, I am:

Galaxy troops can opt to go for a "full conversion" after a while to a full Nictus - most likely, given other in game comments, because the shards integrate more fully into the host, get stronger, and keep making the suggestion (plus the "longing for space" that's mentioned.) It's mentioned in a story arc that the conversion rate for Galaxy troops to full Nictus is reaching 40%.

Two other types of creatures come up in conversations about these - War Wolves and Vampyrii. Failed Galaxy conversions can create War Wolves, though there is also some seperate process geared specifically towards making them. Vampyrii are made in a completely seperate process that has nothing to do with Nictus shards or Kheldians at all.

*** Spoiler *** There is a portion of the Kheldian story arcs that has you dealing with "shadow" enemies - Shadow freaks, Shadow vampyrii and the like. These are Freaks and Vampyrii that have been infused with Nictus fragments. Nosferatu himself was considering it. But the fragments have NOTHING to do with the original creation of Vampyrii.

You recall incorrectly. His info has always said that he has a Nictus. Even back when he still sported his 5th Column uniform and his dark powers. The version with dark powers that exists again in the game right now is the exact same as the one that existed prior to Issue 3. Not even the description changed.

The original Requiem uses DARK powers, not NICTUS powers, however. The Nictus are an inky purple, whereas last time I saw 5th Column Requiem, he was using the greyish black tendrils of Dark Armour/Dark Melee/Dark Blast/Dark Miasma.

I always get this odd HL2 deja vu when walking around the newbie zones on redside. It's even worse when I see physics-enabled objects and ragdolls.

I've been replaying a LOT of half life recently (from hl1 onwards, I'm on OP4 right now and I have the FISH GUN) (GLEE) so whenever I come back to the City I always want to do three things:

Use my crowbar on a box
Crouch
and Turn on my flashlight.

.... *pulls hair out*

Please read my FEAR/Portal/HalfLife Fan Fiction!

To be fair, a flashlight of some sort would make CoV a LOT easier to play during the real-life day.
