My initial thought is a corrupted cookie.
Have you tried clearing your browser cache/cookies on your home machine?
If you're not sure how to do that (dunno what level of tech expertise you're running with), post which web browser you're using and somebody should be able to point you in the right direction.
Also, what address are you going to for your login? I know that the boards.cityofheroes.com address works, and that initially the boards.cityofvillains.com, boards.coh.com, boards.cov.com, and eu.boards.cityofheroes.com would not work correctly. I don't know if they've gotten issues resolved or not.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

There should be no way to log into the wrong page.

Anyway, to the OP, try this:
1. Delete all CoH cookies: with both city* and coh* names.
2. Disable CoolIris.
3. Reboot to clear all caches
4. Enter the boards with the http://boards.cityofheroes.com address.

I have the same issue and i always use the main address. The only way around this is to find a post and reply to it, the log in section there seams to work for me.

Did work originally stopped working all of a sudden.
Happens regardless of reboot.
Don't know where better to put this, but when I try to log in to the forums from my home PC, it shows the screen that reads, "Thank you for logging in, esseff1", but then reverts to the main forum list and does not actually log me in. Here at my work PC, I have no problem logging in. Any suggestions as to what may be the problem?
