Looking for feedback from /SR Brutes
Number one, can't import it, you forgot to include the data chunk. Second, you COULD probably drop the Fighting Pool, and my SS/SR does do that in his second build, but I'd probably recommend dropping Hasten. Drop that, and one other power, and you can squeeze Aid Self in without sacrificing the Fighting pool. And there's really nothing with long enough recharge to justify Hasten's presence. I'd recommend Fire Sword Circle, Greater Fire Sword or Taunt, though if you truly wanted to you could probably get away with dropping Lucky, the AoE auto.
As to the question of IF to include Aid Self, that is a resounding YES. There may be time or two where it gets interrupted, but like you guessed SR's def based nature makes it the most suited to utilizing Aid Self. It truly is the difference between a good build and a great build.
Don't do it, man. Don't go aidself. That way lies madness.
45 defense to m/r/a is what you want. A little over that is fine for when the debuffs come in, but you should be sitting at 95% defense debuff resistance with a fully slotted SR, so make sure that the 6 core powers are slotted to the ED cap.
Ya wanna know my secret for surviving without aidself with SR? HP and regen.
The more hitpoints you can get into SR, the more mileage you'll get out of the passive scaling dam-res.
Remember folks, aidself makes you stop attacking. And none of us want to do that, right?
Be well, people of CoH.
Your are a wise devil.
The slowed DPS isn't that bad. I had aid self on my SM/SD and I loved it. It saved me sooo many times! I now have a IO'd SS/SD and I'm still thinking of putting it in there some how. I slotted it with 2 heal IO's and 2 int. IO's and it vary rarely was interrupted.
Clouded I can't import your build. But anyways if you're over the soft cap without Weave I'd get Aid Self. It improves your survivability immensely.
Re: Bill Z Bubba
Getting killed makes you stop attacking for longer, and more HP gives you more mileage out of Aid Self too. :P It's not all about the smash, it's also about the havoc and destruction and unstoppable rampage. Just picture Statesman rockinging back and forth curled into a ball as he mutters 'he just wouldn't die...'
Hello my fellow SMASH denizens.
I finished my Fire/SR BRute build a few weeks ago and while it's very tough I wonder if I've waste some time and inf on getting too much defense. Below is my current build and if you import it into Mid's you'll note about 55% Defense to Melee and Ranged and 53% Def to AoE.
So, I've run this character through most content including ITFs, Farms, Mothership Raids and he does great. So what's my problem? There are times when the Random Number Generated (RNG) hates me and I get pummeled very quickly and since I don't have a self heal I can only pray that the RNG shows mercy on the next incoming attacks. The only answer I've come up with to help my above scenario is...
Aid Self.
I could drop the Fighting Pool all together and grab Stimulant, Aid Self and Gloom and still maintain 46% to M/R and 44.8% to AoE. So what's my problem?
I last used Aid Self on my EM/ELA Brute and hated depending on the power when things got tough. But since /SR is a defensive set utilizing Aid Self might be MUCH easier.
How many of you/SR Brutes have Aid Self? Has it been a defining power for you? Have you played high level content with and without it?
Thanks in advance.
My Build.
