Opacity command?

Is there a command to set opacity via slash command? It's not listed under either cmdlist or viable option_set and forum search draws a blank too.

Options -> Graphics and Audio, close to the window scale and color options.

Note that the window opacity setting will be ignored for chat windows until you put your mouse pointer over them, or activate the chat bar - until then they will remain transparent.

I know about the slider in options, but I need a command specifically, something I can bind or macro.

Nope.

The devs hate opaqueness.

Seriously, we've been asking for this to be fixed even before making the colors on global channels stick, which has finally been fixed.

Well, crud. Opacity won't stick after wdw_load either, no matter what it's set to in the file, or the options.

Bleh.

/window_color <int> <int> <int> <int>

/window_color R G B A

Values I think are 0-255 (not 100% on that though). Can't see how to set individual windows though.

Really ought to re-add this to my sig.

But haven't got round to updating it from i13 yet.

Wow, thanks for the workaround. I added it to Known Issues.

It is always nice to know something that not everyone knows.

It is even nicer to be able to share said knowledge.

One command I didn't see in your list though was this.

vis_scale - Controls world detail 1.0=default (valid values .5 - 4)
And it would be wise to note that you are defaulted back to a limit of 2.0 (200%) every time you zone. I have it bound to a key so I can easily reset it back to 4 when I am outside

Maybe we should create an uber-bind or -macro that everyone hits right after zoning to 'correct' or restore everything that gets changed upon zoning: It would include...

  • /sync
  • /unloadgfx
  • <restore default global channel>
  • /windowcolor <restore window opacity>
  • /visscale

See, the transatlantic sharing of the forums is bearing fruit!

Lol. it's funny you say that, cause the one I have uses /sync, /visscale, and /loc (to have text confirmation that it activated and just to have a /loc bind if i need it). lol

Of those I only have /unloadgfx bound to the Subtract key. The only onther thing I have a frequent need for is /chatload to restore the bottom half of my Chat window.
