PETITION: Name Purge - All Accounts without Global Handles
I totally agree with you, being that I am a traditionalist hero-type name person, and I welcome any kind of name releases. But..
I don't really know squat about forum rules, but I think they frown on petitions? I really don't care either way, but I would like to see this get noticed.

Call it a poll instead.
As far as the names go, It's my understanding that any account not being paid forfeits the names if someone tries to take it.
I.E. if you made Captain Amazing in Beta and haven't been back since, when I try to make Captain Amazing it releases the name.
If that person renew's their account they then have the option to rename. I believe it's after a period of 6 months or so. I'm sure someone with a linky will be in shortly to verify.

Unless the name in question is on a character that already has some levels on it (I think if they are level 5 or above).

For high population servers (Freedom, Virtue), this approach is, I think, a bit anemic.

Yeah I just tried a bunch of names that didn't have globals attached to them and none of them freed up. I'm pretty sure that that only works during certain times that the devs enable it.
It wouldn't surprise me if the devs did another name purge around the time Going Rogue is released.

How do I Know? simple, years ago I talked a friend into playing and he played for a short time. he created a character based on Spider Jerusalem. last month he decided to play again and he had to rename his Character because the name was removed. now, he didn't name his character something that was copy righted, and he hadn't played since before global's, so what do you think?
