The devs hate villains! What about our patron pools! THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!

Honestly tho I thought that BS would be given to Brutes before stalkers. I see no problem with the animations for it ether they all look strong but keep in mind that they were all meant for the Legacy Broadsword which is why they look so strong.

But they are adding stuff to patron pools:

Additionally, we also conducted a mini-proliferation pass on the Ancillary and Patron Power Pools, adding 5th powers to most Pools and adding Blaze Mastery for Scrappers.

You're probably out of luck there I'm afraid. The current APPs with 5 powers all got their fifth power added in the second tier (level 44 and one other power required) so I suspect that the sets now getting a fifth power will follow the same method.

Heroes also get access to the Ice Cream and Pony power pool.

1 Pony. Auto. +2000% Endurance Recovery.
2 Ice Cream. Toggle. Makes you better than villains. While this toggle is on, you will never lose to a villain in PVP.
3 Happy. Click power. Click this power to add a new zone, new Task Force, or new store to Hero-side. Deduct one zone from villain-side.
4 Kittens. Pet. You get a kitten. This kitten is 200 yards long and weighs 800 tons, and gives you +10000% damage, 95% damage resistance, and it purrs.

Villains get a rock.

"During testing, we realized that Energize came too late in the lifetime of a character to truly be useful, so for the new versions of the powerset, we swapped the progression of Lightning Reflexes and Energize (Brutes and Stalkers do not get this advantage, unfortunately)."

anyone know why villains didn't get this advantage too?

No clue, but /sr got switched just for brutes.

Also, is that Tiger from Monster Rancher in your avatar? Awesome if so.
This is probably the only thing that made sense to me. Broadsword does get some of the coolest looking weapons (Rularuu, Talsorian, Rommie, Nictus, Valkyrie and Tech). Katana's I can only admit is half as good.

And no, my Avatar is John Talbain. Unfortunately, there isn't much Monster Rancher fan art out there.

Oh, sure, Dual Blades and Martial Arts have fancy spins and tricks, but nothing quite compares to the SMASH!!! of Head Splitter. Or... Hell, to the brutality of just about any of the Broadsowrd attacks.

If I had to rank melee attacks in terms of coolness, I'd go Head Splitter -> Sweeping Strike -> Energy Transfer -> Seismic Smash -> Eagle's Claw. I wouldn't even enter Golden Dragonfly into the mix. It's cool and all, but nowhere near the punch or the flash of Headsplitter. The red Pillar of Pain is the only thing that keeps it cool.
This doesn't make sense. I like Axe and Mace's animations because they look like they hurt. Broadsword, which uses the same animations, doesn't look so painful because you don't swing a sword like you swing an axe/mace/a stick with something heavy on the end. In short, I wouldn't want to be headsplitter'ed with a big ol' mallet or a pick.

Red Pillar of Pain? So, Martial Arts has blue sparkles? What's the big deal?

Hopefully Parry will be swapped out for Assassin strike, and Whirling Sword will stay in. Anything that makes Broadsword play differently than Ninja Blade would be a plus, in my opinion.

But then you've basically got a clone of Axe.

Stalkers might get Axe eventually.
