Most of the links in sticky bring me to pages that are 404'd
I'm looking for an AT that can do well 1v1, I'm thinking some kind of controller (redside is too boring to play), but considering the state of PvP I've been reading about I'm not sure what to go with

thanks in advance

For a beginner build I would probably recommend either fire/ or invul/ and ss. Tons of survivability and decent damage. Though remember to learn from those around you and not get pvpmeleeitis that hits some and actually destroys their brain cells.

Duel me.
I will work on my sig pic more when I have time.

I would go with something /regen I hear fire/ is pretty good, but i would prolly say broadsword/regen good damage-great survivability, also remember that it isn't defense that you want in pvp, it is resistance.

fire/regen is a powerhouse. Does more damage, plus has dot which is nice against stalkers. I would suggest it.

i would suggest a stalker for anyone just learning pvp because you get observer mode built in and you can eventually be useful on a team if you plan to really get into it.

as a hero you could go with a tank just to be the least often attacked target but most people take it for granted and never learn survival techniques. eventually though, i would recommend blasters because theyre squishy enough to require skill yet they actually allow you to enjoy the game getting massive kills.

Hi folks, I just started to check out the PvP zones with my SoA. So far I've just been watching people battle from afar with cloak on, only a few times has anyone actively started to attack me and a few of those times I actually killed em

But anyway one thing I have noticed is that almost everybody uses Super Speed along with another travel power. My question is if anybody has come up with any way to get around using Super Speed and still be effective? I understand how useful SS is in PvP and I'm not clowning on anybody who uses it. I just wanna know if there is a good alternative to it, or a way to counter it (using an SoA or melee fighter). thanks.

As the only toons that i really pvp with are blasters i have to agree with you, but keep in mind as you are starting to learn to pvp with a blaster you are going to get killed as much as you kill so don't get discouraged and say F*** PvP. Just like anything else, you will get better with time, hard work, practice and patience. Stick with it and you will have years of fun to follow.

Write that down

There's no getting around using Super speed unless you wanna gimp yourself. You need it because
A: Fly fails when anyone use a minus fly move
B: just as many minus jump as minus fly powers out there
C: lol teleport
D: nothing stops Super speed not for more then a few seconds anyway
