Need some help with a sig img

I'm trying to create a signature image of this :

My problem is that I can't resize it so that it is acceptable to the forum, or if I can it loses all resolution and is unviewable.
Also, I'd like the picture to be fairly small, but recognizable, and I'm not really sure what size to make it.
Any advice?

Crop as much of the height as you can and then resize it so that its height is within the limits allowed for signature images. That's all you can do.
i don't know what software you're using to edit the image, but most graphic editing software could can leave it recognizable even reduced to the size of an avatar image.

Dr. Todt's theme.

Honestly, I would say don't try. If you HAVE to put an image in your sig, make it an image of your character or an ad for your AE arcs. I find I'm blocking just about every other image because all it's doing is wasting space.

...I forgot what experience means.

Agreed, a sig pic (if you have to use one) should max out at 150px tall by 400px wide to avoid wasting post space or even breaking the format of the forum. Btw, some pictures just don't work well in a sig due to their composition, no matter how you manipulate it.

I don't know about this forum, but most other forums consider overly large sig pics a from of griefing, so to speak. It's just common netiquette to keep a sig reasonably sized.
