QLI: Player Status Bar Color Change while MEZ

Hi:

I was playing my Emp/Psi Defender and of course I have "Clear Mind" in my "bag o tricks", as is, I depend on players telling me they have been affected by a status effect (sleep, hold, etc). I try to keep up with the player's status bars, but with all the powers, buffs, and what not they have, it is very difficult if not impossible for me to tell they have been incapacitated in some manner.

So it occurs to me, why not recolor the box around the player's name in the team box when incapacitated by a status effect. This way I can quickly notice that my team mate needs assistance, and take care of him. Perhaps a purple hue would be nice.

Hugs

This is a genuinely good idea. The little bubble already changes color with the health bar, so it should be tintable purple or something else under a mez condition.

Until then your best option is to expand the icons by each teammate, cluttering your screen and watching for little hold attack symbols.

You're probably going to get a bit of flames in the form of "If you're going up against carnies, CM everybody before hand" or simply "CM everybody beforehand." I know that's not realistic as it would take a lot away from your ability to properly buff the team, but nobody likes to be mezzed and preventative CM is better than reactive CM in that you can keep offensive toggles on.

Changing the color of the status bars might not work for everyone. So you can tell the relative level of a foe by what color they "con", with white=your level, Yellow=+1, etc., but for the color-blind there is the option of using the little triangles under the target's name.

Instead, I propose something different.
Remember how dead teammates have thier AT symbol in the team window replaced by a skull? Replace thier AT symbol with the "Confused" emoticon when mezzed. Like this:
Should be easy to spot in battle without having to deal with the full stack of buff/debuff icons that string across the screen.

This is even better! I wish I would have thought of it. This way you don't have purple "mez" taking priority over red "low hp"

This really is a good idea, either the color change or the icon. Worst case it changes nothing, best case it makes team support less of a pain and generally more effective. I don't see a downside.

At first I thought I liked the color change better, but the more I think about it, the more I like the icon. It's less invasive for players who can't do anything about a mezzed teammate anyway, and it doesn't cause priority issues with the color changes based on HP total. Of course, some setting in the options menu that let players choose one or the other (or both, or neither) would be even better, but any version of this would be great.

FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.

Majorly awesome idea. Especially with the icon change part. That's both helpful and intuitive. This is pretty much a "Do'h!" kind of idea 'cuz until it's mentioned you never think of it but once it is you can't imagine why it wasn't like that to begin with. It's the simple ideas that help the most. Definitely has my support.
