My End Hurts :(

I have a lvl 47 SS/WP Brute - recently upgraded to lvl 50 SO enhancements. (Yes I know IO sets are the way forward but I have neither the inf nor time online to afford them).

I have taken all the WP powers available except Res, Tough, Weave and Combat Jumping. When fighting with all toggles running (7 iirc) my health bar refuses to budge but my endurance drops faster than a blaster in an AV convention.

I have Stamina and WPs End option both 3 slotted with endmod. I also have endred in most of my shields that require it. I am still struggling badly for endurance. Any ideas gratefully received. Some IO purchasing can be done btw...

Slot your attacks with endurance reduction. Those are the most important slots for endurance management.

How do you have your attacks slotted? I would advise at least one endurance reduction or 2 if you have Rage and Hasten (both give a -endurance crash).

How about your armor toggles? I would recommend 1 end reduction in each secondary toggle (including RttC) and 2 in Tough and Weave. I wouldn't waste an end reduction in CJ unless you have an extra slot.

On my SS/WP Brute most of my endurance woes came from Rage and Hasten crashing but I solved my issues with a sheeet load of IOs. Since you are avoiding IOs, look into slotting your attacks with more end reduction.

Are there any lower cost IOs that improve either endred or endmod?

Thx

One of the best ways to increase endurance is to 3 or 4 slot Stamina. 2 - 3 Regular End Mod IOs/SOs and the +End Proc from the Peformance Shifter Set, IIRC.

There are a LOT of IO sets that offer +recovery or +endurance. Some are armor sets, melee sets, etc. You should take a look at them at Paragowiki.com or by downloading and toying around with Mid's Hero Designer program. Both are great avenues for increasing your knowledge.

Lastly, if you want to increase the performance of each power while avoiding all the Set Bonuses business, then I recommend 'Frankenslotting' your powers with IOs. Frankenslotting means to slot each power for maximum effect using various IOs from various Sets. For instance, slotting Jab you could use Crushing Impact; Acc/Dam/End, Acc/Dam/Rech along with Mako's Bite Acc/Dam/End/Rech and Acc/End/Rech along with Touch of Death's Acc/Dam/End, etc etc.

I hope that helps.

Do this suggestion first. Get endurance reduction in your attacks. Instead of using a Damage SO, find any cheap IO with Damage/Endurance. Instead of Accuracy SO, find anything with Acc/Endurance. Etc. etc.

I don't know, I have a MA/WP scrapper that suffers from the same issue, Well the 2nd build (I use for concept powers and some I wanted to test) I got end reducs in the powers and end reducs in the toggles and in Focused Acc I got 3 end reducs, yet and still the end bar still goes away quickly, and I have stamina and QR 3 slotted.

However, I will say this, the first build is IOed, good thing that when you are building for defense there are a couple of sets that come with recovery and end increase. About that build I only have just quick recovery and I suffer no issues running all the toggles and attacking. Also with the IOs I have gotten both Accolades that increase endurance, and the good thing about increasing you end is that when you do that you increase your recovery and recovery powers/IO set bonuses while keeping your end comsuption the same and when IO slotting you can maximize more than one aspect, like getting ED capped resistance and high end reduction in those high end costing powers like tough and weave.

I know IO's are cosly but you are close to 50, my level 48 makes like 2 - 3 mil off of about 4 radio mishes and if I play the market right 5 - 7 mil, so getting the IOs and the salvage to make them should not be that big of a problem, you should really consider IOs it will help you in the long run.

A couple of other easy ways to make money and get extras in the process is running TFs since you are a villain ITF and LGTF would probably be best for you. Something I don't agree with that well, but does tend to give a lot of money AE. Other than that do mishes take your salvage and IOs to the market and make your money. If you run the ITF at least twice a week at the end of the month you could get some nice stuff with the merits you get.

Mathematically, and I am willing to demonstrate this with a lengthy display of numbers, endurance reduction in attacks is the single greatest source of endurance management.

Never said it wasn't, I was just saying that I was still having problems on one build with all WP's toggles, fighting, and FA. All of the toggles and attacks have one end reduc (except for FA that one has 3) and I have stamina and QR but my Blue bar still gets drunk down when I am fighting and was comparing it to my IOed build that has like probably anywhere from like 55% to 65% in each power as to a regular build that gets about 33.3.

Also remember that you can use the IOs from Taunt sets and Knockback sets as well! Both Force Feedback and Kinetic Crash have a Rech/End piece. Taunt has no end reduction pieces, but Acc/Rech is fine too.
