Electric Armor, Aid Self or Tough?

I'm planning on rolling a Katana/Electric Armor Scrapper for pvp as a fun experiment. I've played around with the build in Mids, and I can either go for Aid Self or Tough, but not both.

Aid Self being the only source of heals I could get seems good, and since the build is geared towards +Rech and +HP/Regen the heal would do more. However, is that long activation time gonna hurt? (Even when I can move around after the first .66 seconds?)

Tough, in PvP, increases all types of damage resistance, which sounds like a great thing, especially on a Resistance based armor type. Plus, is a great spot for another -KB IO, (Have 44 w/gounded already)

I can dedicate 4 slots to each power, and what I was thinking for Aid Self was an Interrupt Redux. IO and Doctored Wounds, Numina, and Miracle Heal/Rech IOs. For tough I would go Steadfast -Kb and 3 Ribosome (or Synthetic Ribosome) HOs (The End Redux/Resist ones).

The build is mostly for Dueling, but I like to zone pvp as well. Endurance management is also a priority so thats why there is Conserve Power and Powersink.

"Elec" and "fun experiment" don't go together in PvP. Elec is by far the worst PvP secondary - but if you're dead-set on using it, go with Aid Self. Tough adds a negligible amount of resistance after DR.

Ok, cool...Aid Self it is.

You know, I've seen a lot of people with those "horrible" armor sets do good, its all in how you play it really...

You can win with "horrible" armor sets if you are playing against horrible players.

Or just use...

ENERGIZE!

I'd make it a linky to the post describing it in the I16 CB thread but I'm to lazy.

For virtual,

The new power Energy, wich heals for a 500ish HP and gives 100% regen for 30 seconds.

Cooldown is 2 minutes (unknown if this is enhancement by recharge).

50)Sinergy X/(50)Mika.
(50)MaceX/(50)Encore

This. Silly people making builds assuming powers won't change between sets.

Given that it's not a Tier 9, as Power Surge holds that spot for Electric Armor, then I'm going to bet we'll be able to slot it for recharge.

100% regen is nothing spectacular, and Healing Flames has a 40s cooldown in comparison.

It's definately nice to see for a set that I've always thought was the best looking armor set in the game either way.

Hmm...I've only recently dipped into the "new" boards again, so maybe I'm missing something...but what are we talking about here? Energize? Is ELA actually recieving some sort of "buff" or are these just hopes and dreams? Info?

Issue 16 went into closed beta today and before they locked out those not in closed beta someone posted that Conserve Power has been changed for all Electric Armor sets (since ELA was ported to Tankers and they can get CP in their epics, a.k.a. ELA gets ported to Heroes and gets buffed wtfbbq!? J/k'ing) to a power named Energize.

As stated above Energize is apparently around a 500hp heal unslotted at level 50 and grants a 60% reduced endurance cost as well as 100% regen for 30 seconds, with a 2 minute cooldown.

Check the I16 thread in news and announcements discussion I believe, that's where the post originally was when I saw it.

Wow this is awesome! CP was never needed for an /Elec armor anyways. So excited for I16 now to rebuild and IO out my Elc/Elc.

If that really happens, I may actually try elec again.

I guess the new power Energize really answers my dilemma about Aid Self or Tough, I'm going tough now and slotting IOs for Recharge, Knockback, and a Little +HP (It's hard to get those 3 slotted to my liking without gimping something...perhaps PvP IOs could fix that I haven't looked into those because they are so dang expensive!)
