Slotting IOs for PvP
The same piece from the same set can only be slotted once in the same power (i.e. You can't slot 2x Obliteration Acc/Dam in Headsplitter, but you can have 1x Obliteration Acc/Dam and 1x Multistrike Acc/Dam in Headsplitter, or 1x Obliteration Acc/Dam in both Headsplitter and Slice).
But then I lose the benefits of having multiple IOs from a single set slotted, yes?
Does the same apply for Defs? Is it preferable to slot Titanium Coating, Red Fortune and Aegis Def or Def/Rech in Elude?
Generally what they mean by slotting for Accuracy and Damage is to get your enhancement percentage as high as possible, using any means available to you.
You can do that by putting 3 generic Accuracies and 3 generic Damages in a power, or you can put several Acc/Dam IOs in a power (all from different sets, it's called frankenslotting), or you can put a full set of something in for the set bonuses.
Many sets max out damage enhancement and you lose a little bit of accuracy in the process. However, accuracy set bonuses are pretty common, and you should be able to find a set that provides one for just about any power. Accuracy set bonuses are global, meaning they affect ALL of your powers. So, if you have 50% accuracy enhancement in a power, and 45% worth of accuracy bonuses, that power would effectively have 95% worth of enhancement. At the same time, every other power would ALSO have an extra 45% accuracy added to it.
In response to your question about Elude: The only one of those choices you even CAN slot in Elude is Red Fortune, Titanium Coating and Aegis are both Resistance sets, which Elude does not accept. Unless you want set bonuses you can slot Elude with a Def/Rech from Red Fortune, Luck of the Gambler, and Gift of the Ancients. Elude will also accept Universal Travel enhancements, so you can slot 3 Blessing of the Zephyrs for the defense bonuses it gives.
Hope that cleared up your confusion a little bit. Good luck with the PvPing.

I just wish I'd found the forums sooner myself instead of fumbling with unfamiliar stuff for the first few months......

No problem at all. If I have information that will help I am happy to share it.

Question: Do IO set effects stack? For instance, I would assume that the 9% accuracy bonus I get for having 4 Scirocco's Dervish on my Spin would stack with the 9% Accuracy bonus from having 4 Luck of the Gambler on my Elude. Is this so? What if I have 2 sets of 4 LOTG on dif powers? Do those accuracy bonuses stack?

Here's a more general overview of set IOs.
And this here is the grandaddy of them all for pages to revisit when slotting your character with IOs.

i have referred frquently to th IO paragonwiki page, but somehow never seen the Law of Fives. TYVM.
another question: do you lose the global effects of slotted IOs when you lose access to the powers due to auto-exemplar in warburg or siren's call?
If said slotted IOs are above the level you are exemplared to, you will lose the set bonuses. I'm not sure whether powers that are available to you or not are affected though
so let me understand...if i'm exed down to 35 in warburg, and my IOs are 50s, the IOs don't ex, they just disappear? would it be worthwhile then to have a separate build slotted with 35s if i were going to be hanging out a lot in warburg?
If you are ex'd down more than 3 levels of your set IO's the set bonuses will not take effect. This is not to say that the singular IO bonuses will do the same. For example, if you have an Acc/Dam IO that gives 24% to each at L50 when you are ex'd to L38 the effect will be comparative to the bonus offered at that level, like say, 19.8% to each. (best guesses there, but likely not accurate). Though I hope you get the point.
So if you have primarily L50 IO sets in your main build it would not be unwise to have a second build with IO sets relative to a common ex'd level. This is so you get the set bonuses if you are concerned with that.
Exemplar effects only affect enhancements when exemped below level 32. At 35, you should still be seeing full enhancement value from your level 50 IO's. Set bonuses and global effects will not be available from enhancements that are more than 3 levels above your current combat level.
Set bonuses and global effects like LotG +recharge, or Steadfast Protection +defense are available so long as the IO is still within 3 levels of your combat level regardless of whether the power is available
Procs and effects of specials like the Numina's or Miracle uniques that require that the power be active are available as long as the power is available regardless of the level of the IO you're getting it from.
Hope that helps.
First time on Forums here, so forgive my ignorance. I've been trying to understand the PvP threads, and I have a question: There is frequent reference to slotting for Damage and Accuracy. Does this mean I should be slotting say 6 Oblit Acc/Dam on my Scrapper's Strike or Evisc? Can I do that?
