Dr Kahn TF

I've done the Khan TF a couple of times now, and I've got to say I am suprised it's been so universally slated. I must admit I played it initially with a lot of trepidation, because I'd not heard a single positive comment about it. But I have really enjoyed both goes at it. I liked the concept of it, and even tho it's a tad grindy in the end it makes sense to me and is still enjoyable.

I'm the first to call a spade a spade, and if I think something's a dogpile I'll say so, but I think this has the potential to be one of my fave TFs, especially once people get used to it and get a system in place as they have with LGTF and ITF and others. Not too long, not too tricky and fun once you've got the knack of it.

All in all, although I15 is small and as others have mentioned isn't worthy of being called an "Issue" in its own right, it's not bad content for all that. Stupid Paragon Marketing team could've called it I14.5 or simply "Anniversary Celebration" and everyone would've been happy.

Now I wanna go play on my Dom

I like it too - but I wish they'd not have him holding the other AVs as captives
I'd prefer it if he was video conferencing with them when you arrived, and then they would tp in instead.

I thnk the trouble there is that the others would just let him get splattered if that were the case... or all TP in together

But if they were interested in his proposals, they'd probably want to help him out.
And they might take longer to tp in becuase they might want to gather some help, like Countess Crey might feel safer rounding up a few of ehr tanks before entering a battle - plus, if they don't have tp as a personal power, then they'd have to get from wherever they were video conferencing from to wherever they had their teleporters.

I agree with Golden_girl, the AV prisoners are the only thing that doesn't really make sense to me.

I still think it is fun though and can ignore little things like that.

The nice touches like the teleport thing are at least interesting the first time and shows they are thinking.

The Barracude TF on the other hand ...

i agree wholeheartedly that it has the potential to be one of my fave TFs aswell ive made one attempt at it until we got to a point where he was on an unstoppable cycle he'd go down to 55k health then pop unstoppable and back up to 75k and this happened about 10 times. Now i'm all for challenging gameplay but imho giving an enemy an insane amount of HP is a bit of a cop out when it comes to creating a challenge. For a while hammering away at him was kinda fun then it just turned into a senseless grind

as for the other missions i liked them but they are kinda "blink and you miss em missions"

i can see myself getting the badge some other time but after that i dont think id do it again unless it gets tweaks, as it is nowhere near as fun as the TFs added in the last several issues (just my opinion anyway)

I don't dislike it...

With no cut scenes (hero side), and if you aren't the leader no text it is very difficult to actually work out what the story is about, why you're doing what you're doing.

And the intermediate missions are exceedingly boring. Mission one is fun and interesting with new maps. The last mission providing you know what is going to happen is fun and I like the map. But the others... pah, boring and rather pointless. STF and ITF are both more interesting and more fun. And because of the cut scenes I know what is going on even if when I'm not leading it.

Lag Hill aside of course.

Did you zap him with the temp powers?

I'd like to see the ITF team I ran with last night vs Reichsmann; with one stalker as our entire melee complement (2 x corrs, 1 domi, 1 troller, 2 x soldier MMs, stalker & blaster) we floored Rommie faster than I've ever seen before - he was down in about 20 seconds per 'life'. Be interesting to see if we could take Bisonmann down as quick

The first mission it Atlas Park is really good, I think - but then the TF seems to dip a little, and only pick up towards the last mission, unlike the ITF, which feels like it's ramping up right from the start to an epic showdown - it feels more even than the new TF.

Said this a few times - if it had been a birthday extra or a patch then it would have been almost universally lauded.

As it is being called an issue, with the TF and SF being virtually the entire issue and coming after a relative drought of dev-created content, it's been almost universally slated.

It also came with some disappointment for some at the big birthday present was that everyone had a chance to beta test the new patch... errr I mean issue... This, especially with the size of the issue, managed to feel anticlimactic.

The TF itself, IMO, is a very decent TF - quite fun, although annoying if you have trouble with the final AV and it takes over an hour of constant battle... I've not actually done the final version of the SF yet - but an earlier version on test was much more fun than the TF, so hopefully I'll get chance to do that soon (or as soon as it's been tweaked and the MM temp repaired).

If only PS had handled the release/naming better it could have had a much better reception from many.

Of course it's so obvious that the devs decided to do a paired hero TF and villain SF after playing the exceptional MA arcs Marketing Opportunity (#83747) and To Save A Single World (#83744) - if only I could remember who wrote them...

I've enjoyed the TF and disliked it all depending on who I was teaming with. The TF itself is good as far as I am concerned its what you make of it that matters. Now the SF, well, we found the bug and done nothing more with it.
