Why do so many people be rude?

not to look evil but, if the servers over there are down and now all of a sudden ppl are rude, it does say something about how they act on the french and german servers......

Or, it shows that there's a few bigots on the English servers...
Mind you... IIRC, a year or so ago the English servers were down and a lot of folks went to the French server, and got a similar reception...

You gotta be taken the [censored], Let me get something straight here. I play on vigilance daily. I enjoy speaking french with the french people it helps to jump in the deep end and learn the hard way.
That said i lost all respect for the good majority of the french server after the display of [censored] i seen over the past few days. As donna said, do not expect a warm welcome when you come spamming broadcast (in a foreign language to most), disrupting the area and generally causing a riot. When you act mature and join in to play the game like everyone else then i'll meet you evenly and give you some respect.
Don't get me wrong that wasn't aimed at anyone but the act itself, but you cant say wasn't expected. Like me a lot of people lost the respect of the other severs after that display. Its a pity that some good people got caught up in it perhaps like yourself.
There is no excuse for it. NO matter who is at fault
I have characters on all EU servers, and I play them from time to time.
But because my French is so Rusty and my German is non existent, I tend to play solo, when on V&Z.
Despite that, on D&U I have played and made some good friends with Spanish and Italian players and despite the language barriers, I let my gameplay do the talking.
Then again, I try to make friends not cultivate xenophobia.

Just drop a short tell when you visit Zukunft and I'll be happy to join when you're on Zukunft. I know not a single player who would mind (or can't understand) if you talk english in a group. Not every groups switches to english, but we can have a lot of fun not understanding everything...

Wish I had a date on that quote to find out whether that was what inspired Watchmen or whether he'd got hold of a copy through an intern.

Nah, Ozy's plot in Watchmen was dreamed up by Moore, but it has similarities to the old Outer Limits episode The Architects of Fear (which Moore acknowledges in the story *it's playing in the background on the telly when Blonde-Dan and Blonde-Laurie visit Laurie's mum towards the end of the final issue).

Gotcha. Curious coincidence, though: the Reagan quote was made at the Rekjavik Summit (11 Oct 1986), about 2 weeks after the release of the first book in the series.

I treat Union as a European Server. In RL I don't particularly care what language speak around me and servers unlike the forums can't really be moderated anyway. You can't sell the product in Denmark on the proviso that they must speak English.
When it comes to racism it is all [censored] for tat. For every one person that thinks a certain way from any country there is probably population proportionate the same in any country.
It is therefore not my business to judge or expect English.
It's those asking people to speak English I would rather hear less of.
As for the protesting and spamming I fully support it as it was fun.

On behalf of the union/defiant players who have been rude or offensive in any way i appologise for them. A lot of them will be too proud/egocentric to admit they are in the wrong but please dont think that we are all like that, some of us are very nice people indeed.

Why apologise for a bunch of brainless bigots? It's not the fault of everyone else that there's a few morons on the servers who are unable to get over themselves. Let them be shown for what they are, don't apologise for them; you did no wrong.

Yeah i know but sometimes someone [even if its not the person who created the offense] saying sorry will make the situation more calm and relaxed than no-one saying anything. Think we all know that those people who did say something wont come forward.
Im all for EU mass competitions and friendly rivalry though
Edit: I am tempted just to go visit their atlas for a bit though just to mix with them, already invaded their forums for a while and got a warm reception (BURN THE SPY is warm ok! ) so should be fun!
