Looks to me like it's basic Notebook GFX rather than a dedicated graphics card.

Query: Does it happen with graphics set to safemode on starting CoX?

And yes I'm a qualified PC Tech!

Edit: Also change your game shortcut to include -renderthread 1 after the .exe"
.exe" -renderthread 1

That will let CoX run in Multi Core/Cpu mode

Only Cohupdater.eu

Probably just that you have Windows suppressing display of "known file types".

Not sure how it works in Vista, but in XP the way to change that is to open My Computer, Tools menu, Folder Options, View tab, and uncheck the "Hide Extensions for known file types" box.

Holy.. what?

Does coh not automatically use multiple cores? I have a mac is there any way to invoke that? or are you a windows techie only? Gonna have to check that now...

CoH may not use all multi-cores, I think it depends on your own set-up as well I'm sure. I've ran it with one core focusing on it, out of four. ( Although the others were occupied tbh)

so um is there anyway to fix it? lol cuz im on a vista laptop nn idk where safemode or any of tht is?

Ok on my mac, it uses both cores (consumes alot of both cores at that...)

Safemode for CoX graphics is a little toggle box on the updater screen...

Page 1: Version Info
Bottom Right Button: Next >

Page 2: EULA
Bottom Right Button: I Agree

Just left of the 'I Agree' button is the CoX gfx 'Safemode []' checkbox.

um yeah it didnt fix it

i read a while ago that CoX code didn't always successfully detect multiple cores/processors, hence the necessity for the renderthread parameter to force it. it may not be necessary anymore, but i use it all the same just in case. it made a difference last year when i bought my first core2 duo cpu pc and i didnt see the performance gain i'd looked forward to. turning on this switch certainly made difference. whether its going to help with a graphics glitch i dont know, but it wont hurt thats for sure.

Well i tried adding renderthread1 or whatever on the end
but it doesnt do anything
Am i supposed to do something? lol
cuz i had to add
exe on the end of cohupdater.eu

the "-renderthread 1" should no longer be needed as CoH will now make use of multiple cores (tho i think it can only use a max of 2) also weirdly i used to use the -renderthread 1 command but found that the game actually ran better on my PC without it so adding it may not be a great idea if the game is running ok the now.

as for the problem at hand first thing to do would be to upgrade your graphics drivers you should be able to find the latest ones here

failing that try going into settings and playing about with the graphics settings you might need to switch them to advanced to get the full spectrum of options.
