Why zombie mall (and many many other ideas) would be [censored] in City of Heroes:

1. You can fly over the content and it wouldn't matter.
2. You have super powers, the zombies are weak in comparison.
3. You don't need to use weapons on them, just some Immobilization spells and Novas and Fire Imps, etc, the zombies are much weaker than super powered heroes.

So where's the fun in that? It'd be great as a thing to do in the tutorial... pick up (zomg! Picking up something? Can heroes do that sort of sophisticated maneuver?) a baseball bat and whack some zombies (but they would have to approach the player when they aggro, and BaF). Perhaps in some situation where the player is de-powered it might be cool - they have to fight with chainsaws and bats while they find a way to regain their powers, and then it's blam! blam! blam! Seems like it might be fun.

In other words, it'll never happen.

Are you completely ignoring the fact that this event already spawns in some zones? or just oblivious?

Counter reasons for all your arguments:

1. Not if its a mall, and anyway. If your there to play it would you really fly over it? ... you can fl over any content you wish its not really a valid point o.O
2. Apparently not, see zone event.
3.Who cares, part of the fun of the zone/event as multiple people have described is that there is a power suppression, did you read the thread at all or just guess based on the title?

Its fun because its different a situation many are familiar with and would give something new and exciting for us to do. (Please make it level 50 a la end game content)

Anyway i am extremely enthusiastic about the idea. Especially as its a perfect way to make DA a little more populated! .. well populated *loads shotgun* Bring. It. on.

P.S C.o.c.k.i.n.g a weapon isn't inappropriate language. Damn non contextual filters!

Are we talking about new zombies that'll be weak? Or are we talking about the zombies already in game that area challenging at their own levels? Vahzies, Banished Pantheon and the zone spawn zombies? Zone spawn Zombies are particularly tough.

Why try and make the game fit the setting, if you can tweak the setting a little to fit the game?
Make new zombies if you want, make them tough, make them numerous, make them slow or fast. Change the enemies, but why change the characters that people like to play?


This whole suggestion sounds to me like "this is cool in game X, we should have it here" while game X works because it's game X on that concept, implementing it here with the numerous game altering changes makes no sense to me. If you want game X, why not play that?

I, personaly, love this idea so far
Maybe add some PPD into the mix? They could be trying to contain the outbreak or something along those lines.
