Union MA Challenge 1 - Birthday Celebrations

I hope people enjoy a challenge because I've had an idea of how to get more out of the MA! I intend to start up a challenge either every month or every other month (depending on how long it all takes!). Details are below. Please feel free to question me about my dark intentions!

Okay, for the first challenge I would like three cups of creative juice, a dash of inspiration and a pound of flair! (Even I’m cringing so don’t worry)

It’s my birthday soon! 26th April to be precise, and two days before the 5th Anniversary of City of Heroes (We’ll include Villains too, lest they bear a grudge and plot to take over the World out of spite).

So get your thinking caps on please and [/i]come up with at least one mission that has a birthday theme[/i]. You can do anything you like (seeing as this is the first challenge) BUT [/i]it must have a birthday flavour![/i]

And remember, birthdays can mean anything! The birth of a new evil, the birth of Manticore and Sister Psyche’s child – not just cake and jelly (although I like cake and jelly, mmmm)!

So on to the nitty-gritty:

<ul type="square"> Level Range = 1-54
Length = Very Short – Very Long
EBs/AVs = As many as you like!
Custom Faction(s) = Allowed[/list]

When creating a mission/arc, please put MA Challenge One in the description so I can find it! Please also PM me on here with the arc ID – no further information is required because it should all be accessible through the MA!

I will be judging on the following criteria:

<ul type="square"> Presentation – this means general spelling and grammar and the look of the text I’m reading.

Story – is it just a bunch of random stuff that happens? Or is there a consistent thread there? Please bear in mind that if the ‘random stuff’ works in its favour, I will still mark highly!

Characters – whether they be standard groups, custom factions or hybrids I will be judging based on how they fit into the story – please try to stick to consistent level ranges if you can when creating more than one mission. Again, if the characters fit well and there is an inconsistency but the story still makes sense to me then I will judge accordingly.

Difficulty – I shall be using Arctic Princess (lv 50 Kat/SR/BM Scrapper) to run through the missions. She can handle most things although possibly not a room full of AVs![/list]
If anyone would like to help me judge the entries then please feel free to PM me! Of course if you’re judging then you are not allowed to enter the competition yourself – that just seems fair.

The deadline for all entries to be in by is 10th May, 2009 (I will be checking the date published on entries). I will then spend however long is necessary going through the entries and will announce the winner shortly afterwards.
The prizes are as follows:

Not much I know but, hey, free inf! Plus if I’m going to be doing any more of these I’ll need to run a fair few mission teams!

As an amendment to the prizes:

10,000,00 inf will be awarded as first prize.

A benefactor who wishes to remain anonymous has contributed some more inf to the prize fund.

I got some whacky7 ideas but that's not the same as a good arc. Its definitely not the same as an arc with appropriate grammar.The people who helped me out so far improving the grammar on my current arc is proof enough for that.

Just some random ideas. Feel free to use them, I can always think of other ones:

Singing telegrams service: Always smile when you bring the birthday presents and don't think about what it is you are transporting.

Every birthday party needs a Clown: Death with a smile. Can you stop the Clown murderer before he crashes another birthday party?

I want an Action Figure for my birthday! Shops are closing and the young nipper demanded an Action Figure doll of the notorious Grinning Spade (he I am entitled to a mary sue here). Can you keep the precious not a doll out of the hands of those other parents who can't be as desperate as you are? And why7 did nobody tell it was a fullsize doll? And is this a Nemesis plot or what?

Aaaand done! Still need to test the arc but it should be published within the next day or two.

To bad. I think this was a good idea AP.

For me, creating an arc takes so much effort and time that I don't go all the way for something that I last only a short while. Biggest problem being the language.

Hmm, ah well - I will definitely be trying RP's arc though!

Of course the deadline is 12th May but I think that, perhaps, until we know more about what's happening with the MA and more time has elapsed then it will be best to try this at a later stage.

Before I notify Avatea of my desire to have this thread locked, to avoid confusion, was anyone else going to give the challenge a go?

I will check it out as well. Mine never got more then 1 untested mission with horrible english

It was about being a hero low on money and needing a job for nothing other then a Birthday Cake delivery service with a Song and Smile. What the bleep. I will publish the horrible thing when i return and leave it published exactly long enough that you can see the concept and comment on the idea alone. After that it will be deleted.

That probably wouldn't be a bad idea, hopefully more people will want to do it at that stage
