Rad/Pain corruptor for SG Themed team

So yesterday I rolled one of these for a Resevoir Dogs themed SG team and loving it so far. Normally I wouldn't be much of a one for being "teh healor" (you're all doomed by the way guys) but the amount of self-buffs in Pain combined with the AOEs and -Defense of Rad seems to be a lovely combo. Once the SG team called it a night (while I was still messing about with my cossie) ended up street hunting and on mostly Corruptor PuGs and had a ball with this combo. Nice to be a lowbie and rarely / never miss with the Vet Attacks.

Anyone got any tips for this build (there are no Pain guides for Corrupters on the US side).

Specifically :

Which heals can I skip. Was thinking of missing Soothe since I'll have the heavier heal with the Damage self-buff (nice idea by the Devs for making it suited to a Corrupter) and the AOE heal.

Also thinking of skipping Soothing Aura as it seems a bit too close to rocking the aura to me. Still, I will be on a large team (of Brutes and Domis going by last nights team) most of the time so maybe this is worthwhile?

Since I'll be on a team, and Rad is great for the Vet attacks was also thinking of concentrating on the Rad AOEs and skipping Xray Eyes and the Snipe. Electron Haze does do some intermitent knockback but it's a decent damage very narrow cone and has a sizable Defense debuff in it so it's worth it I think.

Anyone got any other tips for this combo? Any levelling (non-set IO) builds about? It'd be nice to squeeze the Leadership pool in there too if I could for all the team buffs and a Vengie -> Conduit of Pain combo but not sure if I can fit it all in.

huh soothing aura is a toggle which is always on regen aura.
Nullify pain is your self heal that others can benefit from.

The Mastermind / PvP version is a Regen aura.

The Corrupter version is an aura which does a heal 1/3rd of Nullify Pain every few seconds (not sure how many). Which could be annoying.

Yes in essence a regen aura in all but name.

In essense nothing, it basically seems to do the annoying "greeheal spam" thing like people who leave their AOE aura on auto (hence my original Rocking the Aura comment about it).

Ignoring pointless arguments which don't add much to the discussion how *useful* is it on teams?

*Edit : Oh, and should I bother with the nuke? I'm thinking of skipping it because of the End crash, I've nothing to counter / recover from it really.

*Edit 2 : And what Patron pool to aim for? Thinking of Dark. Power Boost (what will it do for Pain Dom?) and Mire-style draining damage and accuracy boost. Yum.

Not much experience with damageslotting rad since my defender slots for procs and debuffs except for cosmic burst and proton volley.
The nuke is ok but it's no blizzard.
I would get electron haze, as it's directed you won't scatter everything to the four winds.
Oh and i would get eyebeams unless you are planning to proc neutrino bolt.
Neutron bomb is weird, since it notifies mobs randomly depending on range.

I reckon the Nuke goes into the "Maybe" bag so. I'll wait until 32 and see if I actually want it

Yep, I got this and love the power (although the animation is a bit pants)

I'm basing a lot of this on my WS, they have the same animations between the sets I think. I tried both of the WS versions and the reason I went Neutrino was just because it's so handy to spam while waiting for other things to recharge. Eye Beam I was worried I'd end up standing around a lot. Once I get Cosmic at 18 I might respec to Eyebeams instead (although I am tempted by the PROCs too).

Urrgh. That's odd. Oh well I'll be in a team with lots of Brutes so hopefully things will focus on them instead. I'm not expecting too much from The Tennis Ball of Death anyway, just some more AOE to throw about. Ta for the tips.

I tried to play my Rad/Cold Corr like my Rad/Rad defender for ages using only Neut Bolt/Irradiate/Cosmic Burst and the snipe (mostly for the cool sound and as finisher).

Was horrible for DPS as I spent half the time moving in and out of melee range and Rad Blast on its own is just so 'meh'.

Now with Neut Bolt/X-Ray/Electron Haze/Cosmic Burst/
Neut Bomb I have a good chain if not amazing DPS.Given the large delay in registered damage from Neut Bomb, you almost always have to open with it for maximum effect, then follow with Haze. After that its mix in the single target attacks to however you perceive they need to be directed.

The nuke is fairly mediocre to follow the set as a whole but it looks nice and if you have a spare power with maybe three slots going, would serve as a panic button to finish off a herd/ambush ect. Very skippable tho, I've now dropped it from my Corr as I needed to keep Artic Air running all the time.

The PB should increase heal delivered and the stun from Cosmic Blast. Not sure about the rest of the Pain Dom powers tbh. Does sound like a nice combination, gl with the villain.

Here's my team-orientated SO build (with an eye to IOing up as I go, eventually PROCcing Neut Bolt and Irradiate). My single target chain is shored up by the 2 Vet attacks.

Rather worringly for my teammates I like the idea of leveraging Power Boosted Vengence...

Random update on how this is going. I'm now level 11.

My main issue is staying alive at the moment. All of Rads AOEs coupled with a Heal which gives me a damage boost but prevents me healing myself, along with the lack of crowd control in early Villains is an evil combo. I often find myself gathering too much aggro from the AOEs. Most teams I've gone on have been 1 or 2 levels higher than me, so the enemies I'm fighting are a bit too tough for me.

However once I DO and SO up and team with my regular team of Domis and Brutes I figure it'll get better. Still a blast to play but will get better when I move from being The Healer to The Buffer with lots of AOE Death I think.

*Edit : There's a debate on the US server on Pain Corrupters vs Mastermind ones. With annoying fact which I hadn't considered in the Corrupter vs Mastermind argument.

[ QUOTE ]
Well the "no healing allowed" part of share pain does not disallow regen. It does reduce regen by 100%, but with a slotted suppress pain, you're providing the group with 300% regen, allowing you to continue gaining life after sharing pain.

[/ QUOTE ]

Drat! Stupid annoyingly useless Corrupter version!

I'm now thinking of a second, more PuG friendly build (funded by an alt) with one of the AOEs (Irradiate probably) dropped for X-Ray Beam and switching the heal to the non-crippling targetted one instead, I lose the damage buff but should be more suited to dealing with my own aggro.

Carnifax,

I thought I'd give you a few little fun tips to have a go at if you'd like with Neutrino Bolt. Putting an Achilles' Heel Proc - Chance for -Res is very useful, and in most of your other Rad AoEs. They can be relatively cheap if you're a patient bidder on the Black Market

Secondly for Neutrino Bolt the Lady Grey Proc - Chance for Neg. Energy damage is very nice in such a fast recharging power.

Hope that helps,
Tux
