Or maybe: no leaks = only players with low posts counts in closed beta

Damn - 'til you suggested that I just thought it was my email not working.

Still, pretty glad in a way - having the inlaws over this weekend was bad enough without it being worse if I was in the beta and they were keeping me from it!

Or stricter punishments for speaking out of turn.

[/ QUOTE ]

There is no punishment, other than the probability of not being invited to future beta tests.

At the very least some official word about what we can expect

The Mission Architect. There has been lots of info about that published already.

I really should do something about this signature.

Most of the closed beta leaks we have had in the past have been from people who where unhappy about something they saw in beta.

[/ QUOTE ]
Not the first time there's been a closed beta then huh? I've only been playing for just under 2 years, so im used to being able to get play on the test servers openly. Still don't see much of a need for it to be honest. If it's buggy, you'll find more bugs with more testers. Simple maths.

No leaks = happy beta testers.

[/ QUOTE ]Or stricter punishments for speaking out of turn. We need to find one of the closed beta testers and begin a process of tort- Err, I mean, friendly conversation in a not entirely villainous manner, to get some more information.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't think there's any punishment for leaking - I think it's more like they might never invite you again if you proved you weren't a trustworthy person.
Although, I think if you did a major leak, like giving away every single detail, posting screenshots and so on, then you might get an account ban.
And the "don't ask, don't tell" rule is to help both testers and non testers from having to deal with unfair pressure

I think that'd be a pretty silly way of picking people - although I'm not sure what rules they do actually use for selecting testers.
Maybe subscription time might be one way - not when you first started, but how long you've actually been playing for?

Acording to the test server update info, there is a closed beta hidden forum section for them so...

It also explains why the forums got screwed up when it was added.

The update info also states:

remember not to talk about anything related to the Closed Beta on the public forums!

[/ QUOTE ]

The above info is publicly available if you run an update of the test server. (Before anyone asks.)
