I've got a bit of a way to go to get a Crab, but I'm asking now anyway.

Once you've reached level 24 and gotten your shiny, but rather creepy CrabPack, do the old Soldier powers get fired from the arms, or do you keep on pulling out a rifle? And if you still need the rifle, do the Crab Spider attacks cause redraw?

As far as I can tell, the legs do the work. Gunfire, venom grenades - it's all launched from the spider legs.

YES! Joy! Heeheeheehee! Arbiter ME is gonna be blasty fun!....in 26 more levels, but that shouldn't take too long grinding the hell out of a DM/SR Brute while largely unemployed.

The crab powers all use the backpack, which has no redraw.

However, if you choose any of the wolf spider rifle powers, you pull out a rifle, which has redraw.

That's why there are two versions of Venom Grenade, one uses the crab arms and the other uses teh rifle.

Yes, but having the soldier powers AND the equivalents without the slowdown of redraw, would have made him an absolute blitz of blastery carnage and looked incredibly awesome.

It was the look I cared about more. You'd look like a walking armoury blasting bullets, grenades and energy cannons all over the place.

Crab spiders look like that anyway, the don't need the rifle powers as well.

Indeed, Crabs have arm-based bullet, grenade, and energy powers already.

I did ask the same question, and was a bit dissapointed with the reply. Woulda been nice to take so many shooty attacks, all fromthe Crab backpack. But hey.

Crabs haven't Wide Area Web Grenade, which is really useful :-/

Got another one! Eventually my Crab (which I now have) is going to have a travel power. What I like though, is my toons floating about. Yes, hovering Crab. What I now would like to know is....does the Crab have a full set of properly done animations for all its attacks while hovering? It's damn ridiculous when you blast off something like Supression and your toon acts like its standing on solid ground, like opening the newspaper while in the air, it's just horrible.

I'd check myself but I used all my respecs. I made it, then I remade it with the melee attacks, then I put it back because you just get the hell kicked out of you, I'd already been playing with the rifle powers before level 24...

There are animations for attacking whist hovering/flying, yes.
