Police Station Locations

Most locations for Day Job badges are marked on the map - Wentworths, Atlas Town Hall, Base Potals, Vaults, the Vanguard Base, Pocket D, etc etc - however, Police Stations are not marked on the map.

Is this something that we can hope to see marked on our maps soon? It would make sense, since many detectives (for Safeguard missions) are located in Police Stations. Anyway, that's something for the suggestions thread (hopefully VidiotMaps will mark them down).

Ok - so my question.

I know that there is a Police Station in Brickstown, about 500+ yards north of the Hospital (which is where you appear when you use a base TP to that zone). I also know about the Police station just south-ish of the base portal in PI (just over the wall). But where else can you find police stations? I looked throughout Atlas, and missed it if there *was* one there.

Other zones, locations?

you should have a contact marker which should show the detective in each zone on the mini map. I know that's how I find them.

The Detectives aren't always in or near the station, but usually are.

WinterFlare, it seems, needs to pay more attention when entering zones.

It's not about paying attention, Raven. As we've stated - they are not *always* near or in the station - thus my question remains valid, but it may need to be re-phrased:

Which Police Stations do *not* house detective contacts, and where are they? Do people know? I'll search myself this evening, but I thought I'd ask.

Every Zone has two detectives. The vast majority of them are inside the building or directly outside it.

The firthest one I know of is Jack McLords (sp?) in PI, who is still no more than a hundred yeards from the cop shop.

Oh, and the ones in Faultline. Detective Frasenbacher isn't anywhere near the station as far as I can tell.

However, as I said in the other thread you cross-posted this to (that's against the forum rules, btw), unless they start labelling all the Day Job locations (which they won't), I don't think you'll be getting Police Stations labelled. There are several types which are not marked on the maps.

Thank you for your response, Raven. It's appreciated.

I won't blow this out of proportion, however, I did what I could to restrict a 'cross post'.

This thread was for people to discuss / let me know of locations of police stations - to which I now have an answer.

My suggestion, in the other thread, which quotes this but also asks a different question, was to have police stations (perhaps day job locations) marked on the map.

I appreciate your opinion, but I believe that I split the two posts in a suitable manner.

I always park mine up in the Atlas Park station. You can find it by going slightly south of the plaza and then right. There's a kind of overpass on your right and the station should be ahead of you on the left. The main problem is that the signs don't display until you're right on top of them.

The other option of course is to go to King's Row as both detectives are by the station and should show up on your contacts list the moment you enter the zone. I hope that helps.

I imagine if you ask on the vidiot maps forums they might well add day job locations to those maps.

There are already so many symbols on the maps that I think they should make the deafult map window larger, so as they don't stack the symbols so much - or make the default setting as all symbols off, so then you can select the ones you need from the filter.

I have to agree with you there, GG. Flying towards the train station in Independence Port, you've got that cluster of icons. You point at it, and it 'explodes' into a multitude of markers - it can be a bit fiddly clicking the one you want! I tend to just click any of them, fly in that general direction, and then navigate more when I get there!

You can make the window larger for the map, and also use the little +/- slider at the side of it to zoom in/out and use the mouse to pan around it (zooming in stops all the symbols wiggling about in Talos). You can easily turn off which symbols you don't want in the Options.

Atlas Park - Go north from the Downside marker, following the road, take first right by the red truck and the police station is the 1st on on the right with the trees on the front steps

Galaxy City - From the Nebula District marker, face east and follow the road, past the car park/truck loading place and take the main road to the left. Station is on the right

But I think it'd be easier for newer players if the map window had a larger default setting for when it opened, and that most symbols were off when it opened.
