I13 Prestige Refund? Scrap and rebuild your base!
im with londeoner on this one im not anyed with the idea of having to remake our base it coul do with a slight revamt anyway and this is the perfect excuse.
what i am anooyed at is the amount of resouces its going to ask from everybody even from the smallest of bases to dismantle sell everything then start from scratch using alot of valuble salvage from a system they are changeing at the same time that as yet may end up costing more than was expecting.
the time itself spent on the base building i take great pride in especialy when getting goot feed back from members and visiters from coalition groups so i dont consider the time waisted at all, after all that is one of the things as sg leaders we step up to do for the betterment of our group even if the ui for actuly doing that is a royal opain in the back end

I got 1 SG base per server and 1 VG base per server, actually built up and reasonably equipped but nothing over board as going mad on something that eats up time isn't what I want to do. Basic PVE utility comes first but even if you think of 8 small bases, its 8 bases. Change for the better should always keep coming and it normally knocks peoples shoulders. I do think a little prestige bonus per sg member could be in order once again for the inconvenience. It'll be problem? What problem? For me anyway. I sure as hell can't make prestige back on salvage tables, cos they're full.

i think that might be the point its in your opinion and you build a basic base because thats what your after but there is some of us ingame actuly enjoy the base building and dont consider it a waist of time or a burden even tho alot of the things brought in by the devs do make it tiresome sometimes we still enjoy the whole thing about it
and for me it was the selling frature that origonaly brought me over from coh when cov was launched

The bit i was not understanding was what relevance the fact you aint put any time into a base had on the fact a lot of people have.
And how it lessened the inconvenience dismantling everthing is going to cause people that need/want the prestige bonus, regardless of the size/content of their base.
And in my opinion, no a small prestige bonus per member dosent make up for these ill thought out base changes.

Agreed - almost all the earned prestige (3ish million, IIRC) for little personal villains' base on Defiant was earned by 4-5 of my alts. A "per member" bonus for those few toons wouldn't give much at all relative to the value of the base.
I'm not sure if it has been asked yet- But what is the price reduction like? 20%?
The details haven't been released yet - the new numbers might be available in the I13 beta, but as that's still closed at the moment there's still no outside word.
as standoff said they have yet to give us any details not just to the prestige chage but also for any and all of the changes to be expected with the base system probibly because altho they are working on it, its low on the priority list so they dont wont to tell us what to expect and when only to anoy us when they need to push it back because of problems croping up else where

A lot of people were building towards an unobtainable goal without realizing. I didn't buy into it and maybe others would not buy into it as the goal was unachievable and even if achievable, costs too much in real life terms. The less people taking SGs seriously the harder it is to get as far as one could in making one. It's been worked out that in order to obtain X, Y and Z, you would pretty much have to live on the game and perhaps find yourself evicted from ones home at a later date as its no longer fit for cockroaches. Everything needs to be cheaper and easier to obtain.

atm, to be honest, i can't say i'm that impressed with the repriceing, infact a lot of stuff seems the same price, the most reduced seems to be the upgrade plot size price...gunna on to live and do a bit of compareing but so far, I ain't seeing the love we thought was coming this issue

as well as the big reductions on upgrading bases theres been big ones on defense rooms, energy rooms control rooms, in some cases severl mil has been knocked off. Interestingly the decor rooms have different prices now rather than the same price for all of them.
Item prices look unchanged, certainly for the decor items anyway.

The plot price reductions are all good, but my 2 main gripes remain.
Destroying things to reclaim the prestige difference is going to hinder the sg's that need it the most.
And that other stupid idea of changing base salvage for invention salvage, to be honest, after seeing what they had done to pvp, i lost interest in checking out any more last night, so i dont know if its still going ahead.
But if that salvage idea goes live it's another nail in the coffin for sg's and base building.

I was going to log a new thread about the base salvage change-over, but since we're here...
I13 brings prices changes. Thanks for the example - it certainly allows us to build bigger bases, faster. So - happy about that.
The salvage idea...? Well, tbh, I've given up arguing. We can rant and rave, but they're not going to go back on their decision.
Eliminating base salvage is a bad idea, because base salvage is a system that WORKS (for my SG, at least - if datamining shows otherwise, then I concede). However - it's simple. A hero has his invention salvage and place to store it for his own use. Base salvage is central, and used for the SG (either the base upgrades, or for temp power buff creation, which is what we use it for, religiously).
If invention salvage becomes something you need to share, then how does it work? Do heroes just put in 'the excess stuff that they don't really want' into shared salvage, and keep the rest? Or do they put it in shared salvage and then find they actually needed it and go back to find it's been processed?
You can see where I'm going with this.

It wont even get that far, because its going to be hard work getting people to part with it in the first place.
You spend years harping on, please put ya base salvage in the base, people are used to that now.
Then bang, for no good reason it gets changed and you are asking them to give useful stuff away, its going to cause drama, and salvage theft.
Epic fail of an idea. Why on earth didnt they sort out base access permissions first, how frigging hard could that have been really.
Salvage theft is going to be the problem, yes.
Of course, I don't know how 'simple' crafting will be with invention salvage. All white pieces? All yellow pieces (it would certainly mean they get used!)? Lots of rare pieces (what takes the place of the famous 'unstable rad pistols' used for Elite turrets?)
We'll see how it turns out, and in the end, we'll adjust. I just hope people understand that long before everything was made 'easy and cheap', there *were* a select few who had mastered the art base building (not that it's hard!) and had put the effort in to build fortresses that SGs could be proud of. It was something you worked for, and certainly helped to pitch SG invites to newcomers.

Well youve got to admit what can they do, tbh to create a "limited amount of items to take" is a bad idea cos you might have permission to take it. Logically theres not much you can do about that. Besides, it's not really the biggest issue, CoP seems to be. And they still havent addressed that. Maybe it wasnt popular cos it was PvP, so just redesign it like a SG TF. That would really put a smile on my face.

You lost me there mate, base permissions have caused more arguments than any other thing i can think of in sg's, or more to the point thefts because of them.
As for fixing them it's simple, different rank, different permissions.
Fix the basics before starting to worry about the CoP, which will be another epic fail anyway as long as the pvp element is still attached to it.
