Would like the bio to be a tiny bit bigger but not too big. Maybe when the vault goes live (if ever ) they'll let us add more bio to them on the website?
@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!

Now THAT would be an excellent solution. Though the vault will mainly pull data from your characters entry in the database, it'd be far easier to link it to a new table for additional info you add yourself.
Of course... That's IF we ever see the blessed thing! It's nearly a year late!

i ones just needed 3 lines of text when i reached the ending, really annoying such things.
The alternate suggestions sound good. I admit quite freely that what I dont know about programming/designing could fill...well, an entire and comprehensive guide of the subject. Ergo, why I make suggestions and support suggestions I like.
Avoiding getting one dropped on my by our lovely Cartel at the same time, it seems
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

To clarify, my objection is purely based on the abuse many people put others to if long background fields are available. Having something available via a web site is much preferable.
To those saying "it just needs to be a bit longer," do get serious. So you want an extra 20 characters? And you get those and next time you need 10 more. And then 30 more... Get the picture? If you can't fit it into the space now 'a little bit more' is never going to be enough.

Well, the suggestion for a web link sounded like a good one, or some other form whereby we can type for longer.
I simply object to what sounded like an aimed insult. Kay?

Abuse? How so? It's not like you're forced to read them? I'm confused (again).

a. I don't have a choice about that title. If I did, it would be gone.
b. It was only aimed in the sense that I was aiming at the planet.
Re 'abuse': I was attempting to be humerous. I forget that humour has a terrible tendency to pass us by in a text medium.

You were attempting to be a bone? Odd choice I say.
I'd be satisfied with 1500-2000 characters (not counting spaces). That's enough to fill an A5 sheet of paper and more than adequate for a reasonable background. As it stands, you get to fill an A6 sheet (at best)...

Well, yes, and in any case if you can't abuse someone properly given 1,000 characters to work with you're not going to make a more effective job of it given twice as many.
Some things require quality, not quantity, to do well.
I LOL. Seriously, thanks for that Standoff.

yeah pwoplw can we stick to the subject of the bigger description size plz
That was sticking to the discussion. You don't need a novel to describe your character.
See the name of the box 'Description?' Not 'Background,' not 'Life Story,' and definately not 'List of all the uber powers I've decided my character has while roleplaying, so, yes I can kick your bottom up and down Galaxy City because it says so right here in black and white.'
Description.

Ah yes, but it doesn't say what size Description now, does it?
I know of descriptions that go from 1 to 1,5 million items and others that hold at best 64 items.
Description: a recounting of past events (life story); the act or process of describing in lifelike imagery (background) or "an enumeration of the quantitative and qualitative parameters which seek to provide a definition of some thing, such as what that thing looks like, sounds like, or feels like, distinguishing one state from another and general characteristics commonly noticed which in popular culture define or distinguish something." (that last one, I'd call bio).
All are valid definitions of description and some are more abbreviated than others.
And as with all things optional (no one forces you to write or read one): don't like it, don't use it.

Can't really say i can see the "no" point of view on this.
There's no drawback of having larger bio spare (disregarding technical mumbojumbo). You either use it or you don't. It's not gonna break your character if you could add a couple of sentences more.
And you either read peoples bios or you don't. Some are awful, some are excellent.
And if you wanna be really anal about the word description. I could describe every single hair on Sapphic Nekos head, ears and tail. I'll need... oh say... 10 million letters worth if not more.

Of course it is doable if they consider it a very good QoL thing.

Oh very doable. But I'm reminded of our db admins face when he was told the client wanted to alter their table schema's a bit... He cried.
And THEN I told him they wanted to change the primary keys too... Oooh, that was mean of me!
