New travel powers

I know it's probably not a priority for many people, but I think some new travel powers would be nice, for the sake of characters that don't suit the existing powers and for the sake of some variation.

A couple of ideas I had were:

"Money" power pool, with a couple of gadgets, a motorbike (essentially just superspeed without the super) as the third power and a helicopter (instant transport to your base/nearest trainer/whatever) as the fourth.

"Adrenaline" powerset with fear resistance, freerunning (sort of half and half sj/ss with maybe pulling yourself onto ledges that you can't quite jump onto) as it's 3rd and a parachute (for base jumping) as it's 4th.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Not sure about the idea of the Money pool, but do like the Arenaline pool, lets say...

Free Run: Auto, self +run, jump speed (75% as effective as having Swift and Hurdle), -20% immobilisation time

Adrenaline Shot: Click, same recharge/duration as Hasten, self +Recovery (1.2/sec unenhanced), +run speed (same % as having Swift), accepts Recovery IO sets

Parkour: Toggle, self +Run Speed (Less than Super Speed, more than Swift + Sprint) +Jump height/speed/movement (about the same as Combat Jumping), very minor stealth (halves normal aggro range)

Base Jump: Toggle, can only be activated off the ground, this will slow your fall speed and make you immune to fall damage, gives you forward flight at about the speed of Swift and Sprint, very slow turning and cannot move backwards, automatically turns off when you touch any ground, 15 second recharge


I am the Blaster, I have filled the role of Tank, Controller and Defender
Sometimes all at once.
Union EU player! Pip pip, tally ho, top hats and tea etc etc

I want a dancing travel power set for disco:

Spin: Toggle, self +run -def you -spin around like michael jackson wee!
Macarena:Toggle Confuse Aura max 10 targets,30ft -nuff said
Moonwalk: Toggle, self +Run Speed -tohit for enemy -the awesomeness of teh moonwalk makes the enemy watch you in awe and cant hit you.
Disco Inferno: Click, aura/pet enemy -def minor fire damge -BURN BABY BURN

I'd prefer to see something that's a bit more in-keeping with the theme of the game than Disco. Given that I'm currently hunting 60-odd Carnival of Shadows, how about a Circus set :

Unicycle - toggle, while active makes you prone to knockdown from any hit however for every second that it's active while you are in melee range of any mob, you earn a small amount of prestige for each enemy (they throw it into your hat)

Juggle - toggle ranged defence with a difference : for every ranged damage attack that comes your way you have a 30 percent chance of catching it and juggling it. When you reach 7 projectiles or deactivate the toggle, you throw them all at your current target's face.

Cannon - Click - you point your cannon in the direction you want to go, strap on your helmet and climb in. A combination of Fly and TP, except you can't steer in the air and if you hit a building you get logged out, unable to log back in for 2 months while your toon is scrapped off the window and into a hospital bucket.

Clown Car - Clicky with very long recharge. A clown car pulls up at the designated spot, and until someone destroys it, clowns will constantly stream out and spray them with water, throw buckets of glitter at them and brandish giant rubber mallets, before running off around the zone, all to the tune of some crazy circus music. To prevent a server failure, when the threshold for max number of clowns has been reached, it might be best if they all turn and wave sadly, then inexplicably wade off into the sea while the music from the end of the Hulk TV show plays.

Alternatively, I'd like to see a dance-themed villain group to legitimise the disco travel power. Possibly a splinter of Malta Group - the Ibiza group?

This, I like.
However the travel power pools follow a set pattern:
1, 2: "offensive" and "utility" powers
3: the actual travel power
4: [censored] (except acrobatics) with some situational use

So my variant of adrenaline would be:
1: On the edge: You like living dangerously. Attacks made against you cause a minor but somewhat stacking damage buff and have a chance to cause a short range pbAoE fear (scary crazy person).
2: Adrenaline boost/shot: clicky +recovery +recharge buff. Maybe add a recovery (not endurance) crash when it ends for balance.
3: Parkour: Toggle, a combination of sprint+swift+combat jumping, if the engine allows it would be great if it enabled jumping when next to a vertical surface (bounce off walls etc), oh and +stealth at a similar level to Superspeed.
4: cant think of anything good atm


I do not suffer from altitis, I enjoy every character of it.

cool idea, but that with 2 months not able to log in isn't good i think...put the powerset idea is cool

New group travel power "Trapeeze artists" covers large distances over time but interruptable. Character activates power and drags the rest of group on the first trapeeze and the person on the bottom grabs the next one and flips the chain upside down. If top link is shot everyone tumbles down to the ground, can have a saving chance of landing in a paddling pool but very minimal chance of survival.

Maybe make a travel power set that is based on gadget's.

1. Jump enhancer (boots that make you leap further less powerfull then sj o course)
2. Flight jetpack (makes you fly but slower then normal fly power)
3. Grappling hook (Point shoot and be pulled towards that point)
4. Teleport device (A teleport power)


Yea I know power 3 and 4 are a bit similar but these are just examples(couldn't think of anything better), but I think it's a great set for pvp since it gives you the ability to take all kinds of travelpower without having to take multiple pools.

So you want one pool with 3 travel powers in, and a grappling hook we can't do? I can't see that happening. Travel powers were put behind other powers for a reason.

That said, what you ask isn't entirely infeasible. Should Power Customisation see the light of day, and should it include custom animations, you'll be able to make your travel powers look like whatever you want. Fly will have a jetpack, Super Jump will have some kinda boosters, Superspeed will... well, the sky is the limit.

As for power customisation, don't hold your breath. (That said, a very recent article said they would be able to implement features they said were impossible before...)

"Air power slide"

when activated its like the SS but looks like a surfboard and handles like fly.
the only difference is that ur character remains standing up like on the prestige power slide.

give it sum other new colored light effects and i think this will be AWSOME !

this way u can fight wile ur standing in mid air...

After some more pondering this would be v2.0 of my suggestion:
1: Pounce: ranged (but short range) attack that knocks down the target and teleports you to him. Basically a lesser version of the I13 shield charge.
2: Adrenaline boost/shot: clicky +recovery +damage buff.
3: Parkour: Toggle, a combination of sprint+swift+combat jumping, if the engine allows it would be great if it enabled jumping when next to a vertical surface (bounce off walls etc), oh and +stealth at a similar level to Superspeed. Note that jumping off walls doesnt allow to climb or hang on to them - so there shouldnt be need for new animations.
4. On the edge: You like living dangerously. A recovery buff that scales with health (less health-more recov, like the scaling resistances in /SR passives). And attacks made against you have a chance to cause a short range, low mag pbAoE fear (scary crazy person).


I do not suffer from altitis, I enjoy every character of it.

Pogo Stick: What could be a better and more enjoyable way to travel than to stick a pole between your legs and bounce up and down? Not recommended for acrophobes or those who've recently had a kebab.
