Griefer!
Since when is TP prompt on by default?
Oh, and I'd have figured mapserver-crashing would be the most annoying form of griefing, although I suppose that if people were to do it repeatedly the devs would be able to identify they ways they use and fix them quite fast.

It was on by default when I started CoX (Nov/Dec 2007).

Max: "Me too."

TP prompt is always disabled by default. It has to be enabled if you are bothered by it.
From the article:

The Devs took an extremely dim view of Hamidon Raid griefing.

They really hated anyone spoiling the community event that was the Hami raid...

The Hami Raid was changed because it wasn't a raid, it was a sequence. People would pile in, then orders would be given, certain things would happen at certain times, then everyone would rush in at the end and [Brawl] Hami once, wander off and get their reward when it died, after which would come mass-gank of the polyps. Now, it's so damned hard nobody bothers as there are far easier ways to earn a Synthetic Hami-O (Statesman TF, Lord Recluse SF) that don't involve seven hours of your time and hitting the debt cap.
What, no mention of aggroing most of the enemies (and/or U'Kon Gr'ai) on the saucer with long range attacks during a rikti raid and then running past the people still placing bombs?
edit: ah, right, this article was about the griefs the devs did something about

ROFL, Number 1 and 2 sound awfully familiar
Does a lowbie running into a mob and seeing the mob drop because i was hovering up in the air and launching my lrm missile count as griefing? Sowwy.

the new Hami event is still a sequence:
<ul type="square">[*]Spend hours farming Essence of the Earth Inspirations, then turn up to Eden full of energy and enthusiasm for a Hami Raid.[*]Die repeatedly because the Dev's mistakingly think guaranteed death every five minutes is the best way to make the raid harder and more challenging.[*]Realise that the raid event is NO LONGER FUN like it used to be![*]Hit debt cap trying to persevere.[*]Run out of inspirations, thus making instant death even more frequent.[*]Logoff in disappointment and remenisce about how much FUN people had in the old raids, sequence or not.[/list]

With the advent of IO's though, Hamidon enhancements are less lucrative then they once were. That probably contributed a little to the fall of the Hamidon raid as well.
