Liquefy. Hmm. I'd take it because I think it looks and sounds cool. Also, for concept reasons. Take the Power if you want to take it.

On a controller, I would only take it if you're going for Power Boost later or if you can stack it with other -tht/-def powers. Slot recharge first, then -tht until you can slot IO sets and HOs (I use 1 Enzyme, 1 Lyso, 2 ToLG and the -tht/rechg from Dampened Spirits and Dark Watcher's). Don't bother with slotting Holds.

hmmm so i take it the hold on it is pretty useless? shame i was hoping it might fill the gap of lack of controlling powers from illusion :/
It's only a Mag 2 hold with a short duration, so basically pants

I wouldn't take it on a controller. I'm even considering dropping it on my Defender cuz it's recharge is just too long. I only get to use it on AVs tbh.

What about Spectral Terror? Fantastic AOE control, much better than Flash.
Unless you're fighting damn Nemises of course
I took it on my Illusion/Sonic and found it quite useful! It's not the best of all tier 9 powers, however, the debuffs do help take down larger mobs quicker
I also found that with hasten, you can get Liquefy up quite often! Plus if you go with Power Build Up, then Liquefy will stack nicely with Flash and the small bonus from containment gives you some moderate AoE damage
not hard control
I have Liquefy for my Ill/Sonic, tbh I don't use it that much but I can be quite useful if the tankers or scrapers can't hold the mob and need to use a heal (/Regen, /Regen!!). Other than that it doesnt do much good.
Besides debuffing and holding critters? Yeah useless.
Had it on my ill/sonic when it did KB - when used after PBU they flew so far away I had to activate my travel power to go slap em.
Was great for debuffs though even though I don't play it anymore.

now i know most of the powers i want from both pools, but theres one ive never tried which stumps me: Liquefy. Most of what i generally read about this power is bad, but im wondering since Illusion doesnt have a great many controlling powers, would liquefy help somewhat? is the debuff on it any good at all? or, at the very least is it shiny and fun? 
) Idea for how to slot Liquefy would be awesome too 
just come back to the game after a while playing WoW and D&DO
