Mastermind primary power - Snakecharmer

it's a simple fact that masterminds could use another primary set. while the ideas are many, not all of them are worth the attention. but i'll still give my personal opinion on what a new set could look like.

Snakecharmer (or simply snakes)

Tier 1: a basic attack of some sort. like a poisonous spit or thrown dagger (poisoned).

Tier 2: Summon Snake - this will be the basic trooper of the mastermind.
their first attack should be a melee attack with blade/claw/fang.
first upgrade should give them a poisoned thrown dagger attack.
second upgrade could be a poison spit or a AoE melee attack.

Tier 3: a stronger attack (see tier 1). could also be a melee attack with high damage, maybe DoT.

Tier 4: 1st Upgrade. it should upgrade the pets from hatchlings to vipers

Tier 5: An AoE attack or cone (poison spray?).

Tier 6: Summon Mamba. These are the main killers of the mastermind.
first attack should be pretty much the same as snakes. a melee attack with blade/claw/fang. only stronger/more damaging. maybe with toxic DoT.
first upgrade should give them a cone attack with thrown daggers (poisoned).
second upgrade could be a poison spray attack (cone) and/or melee AoE attack.

Tier 7: This tier is completely open. it could be anything from a swarm of snakes crawling up from the ground entangling and immobilising the foe dealing medium/moderate DoT to a basic pet heal. you guys could add a lot of thought/ideas to this Tier.

Tier 8: Summon Cobra. This is the high damage dealer/crowd controller. with strong melee attacks and psychic mind control powers.
first attack should be a strong melee attack.
first upgrade should be a poison spray (cone) or cone/AoE melee attack
second upgrade could be a AoE/cone sleep/immobilise/hold.

Tier 9: second upgrade. should upgrade pets from viper to elder.

The idea of snakes come from starting too many new villains in my two years of playing CoX. i've had the thought of how cool snakes could be as pets for masterminds for a long time (and every time i've been through the Mercy Island arcs) but havent bothered to write it in here before. i dont even know if the idea has be mentioned before.
This set could be an "easy" way of giving us another much needed primary set for masterminds as most of the models and animations is already part of the game. it's in no way a perfect description of what i want/think, it's just an idea to get others started

Only if we get a Fakir costume as well!

At this moment no villain group is available as a mastermind pet. So unless they want to change that policy I don't se a thing like this coming. It would make the whole Mercy Island Arc a bit shaky.

If they would do this, one could imagine CoT MM's, Goldbricker MM's, Council MM's, Nemesis MM's, Carnival MM's (now that is one I would love to see) etc as well. I don't see that happening.

Ps. As a 'charmer' I think his personal attacks should be more a psionic thing.

mmm, i think a mind controller is a better name for it.....not a bad idea actually, an MM who can use the enemy as minions.
the only problem is PVP, but there are some way's to do it anyway.

Now i would like to think that the people at NCNC are intelligent enough not to start using those, but I dont think that the idea with the snakecharmer is to use the VG "Snakes" as the pets, since the snakes in the VG are kind of thinking creatures, not controlled by humans or the likes. The snakes here are based on the VG, but that doesnt nessesarily mean that they have to look exactly like them, as i see it, it was mearly a way to make them easier to design.

I agree with the 'adding more variety' to the MM sets, and, although snakes sounds cool, I dont think that would get through.
Some sort of monster (actual monsters, not normal enemies) control would be quite interesting, although, as one of my SG pointed out, having something attacking a Council Robot or suchlike with fangs and claws would probably prove problamatic.

Something a bit more extra-dimensional would be quite cool, maybe demons/angels or possibly alien creatures of some sort...And for some reason the thought 'Nictus control' pops up. But thats a bit far fetched.
Just my 2 inf worth.
